I had ACL surgery a number of years ago, while I had a car w/ MT. It was weird at first, but I got used to it. Although, it was a Honda, so clutch work was a bit easier.

Sorry for the delay, after further review, i Was looking for something that would be fun to drive...So maybe I should just pick up a cool 10k FR-S or something.

But I am going in for the TSB update next week, going to see how it drives and if it’s still not great I’ll probably go OVTune.

Manuals are awesome, but if it’s not really “fun” to drive, I don’t see the point. Maybe an exhaust and *crosses fingers* Matt’s twin turbo will make it fun

Did you go test drive one? I think it's plenty fun to drive.

Let me put it to you this way, with the limits of the Taco, it is actually fun to drive, shift, and hustle through corners. Thinking of most any other RWD MT out there, including the FR-S, you are going to be in loose-your-license range in just a few seconds. Our old 200hp / 200ft-lb FWD saab was a hoot, but midway through 3rd gear could be handcuffs.

If you're set on that route and you want to have fun, consider an NB miata. You can wring those out all day long and still be near the speed limits and away from reckless driving worries.

There are always motorcycles. Enduros and Tacos go together like peanut butter and jelly.

I think it's more fun to drive than the automatic, it's just not a sports car, and it's not a sports car transmission. Don't know that it's worth the financial penalty to switch, it may be smarter to just buy an inexpensive sports car to get your kicks in. FR-S is cool, you can get an older Miata for pretty cheap, now THAT has a sports car transmission.

True, I’ve always liked miatas despite the stigma associated with being a homosexual

“Fun” “Sporty” is all subjective. I think the MT Taco is really fun and engaging to drive. It’s not sporty at all to me. But sporty does not necessarily equal fun. I had as much fun doing laps in an econobox Honda Fit than other race cars I’ve driven.

I’d say at least give it a try.

The same can be said about anything that doesn't have some Truck Nutz hanging from it.

Don't listen to haters and have fun.

Put simply, the miata is a modern interpretation of a classic Brit roadster. Would you be seen in one of those? I betcha.

I would love to have a Miata/MX-5 to drive. Top down summer fun. Hot laps around the track.

Not enough garage space and I’m not into racing as I used to be so doesn’t make sense for me. But really fun car nonetheless.

I almost had our 15yr old hooked on one. It would have been the perfect 3rd car for the fam and a good thing for her to drive. But, she let the two seat thing get to far into her brain.

Few more years before my oldest to start driving. A low powered 4-banger with a manual would be a great first car. I’m imagining one of these SR pick ups by the time she’s ready. I do like the no back seat in the Miata though. Ha ha

    Exactly.

She is focused on Imprezas, so it isn't the end of the world. I keep trying to get to take the Taco for a spin, but life has been busy.

Yeah, no back seat is a big plus in many ways. Something a bit more practical would last her a long time though. We have most of a year to sort that out including what insurance will cost.

Previously I owned a 2008 TRD offroad Tundra, obviously with an automatic. I'm about to make a year of ownership on my '17 Tacoma TRD Pro MT, I will keep this truck forever, even when it's time to buy a daily driver, I will not get rid of this vehicle. Zero complaints with the truck, minor inconveniences, but Toyota has taken care of those. Driving the MT is enjoyable, even in heavy traffic. Tacoma is a much better all around truck than the Tundra as well. I was worried about down sizing. The MT is what confirmed I should downsize.

The only draw to the manual is that it loses crawl control which is a cool gimick. I wanted an auto due to the fact that this is my daily and I have two other manual vehicles to have fun in. A manual tacoma can be a cool truck to have though.

I have a brz and it is fun to drive. That said they are not fast, they just handle nice. Fun cars, but not fast cars.
