I saw a Chevy dealer listing with market adjustment. I don't think they know what they are selling over there or realize every other dealer is selling the same thing with and offering GM incentives. Some women have big balls.

Maybe, maybe not. I remember back in the 70's when mortgage rates were soul crushing double digits and people were saying they would never come back down. They were horribly wrong.

I think vehicle prices are here to stay. Manufacturers very well could switch over to building a greater volume of lower priced vehicles, and offer greater incentives and money off. MSRP isn't going to drop, production and materials costs are up. Tesla has lower their price in an attempt to stay viable, but Ford has raised their price on EV. The blue oval has FMC to suck dry. Tesla lowered prices due to pressure from Chinese tax credits and the up tick of domestic production in China. Over here I think it was due to pressure from domestic manufactures in the market place. EV sales have also taken a big hit following the trend of conventional auto sales. Although material costs for EV have increased.

Anything short of a global event that would increase the need for manufacturing, prices are going to stay up. Prices won't come down until the dust of that event has settled.

Carmax wouldn’t give a site unseen value, just tried Carvana and they offered $39,866 for my 6,800 mile truck. Paid $41,647 so not too shabby despite market falling I feel.

Carvana offered 50,200 for my 22 pro 1600 miles msrp 49,600. Got the same on instant offer on kbb. Dealer when I took it in last week for one year service offered 49,600 which I found funny since they want 62k for a 2023.

Manuals can’t be replaced there are so few on the market. We hold onto these things and we are golden Pony Boy.

This is your last chance to sell your used vehicles at inflated prices. End of this year the supply will be overcompensated across the board. Ram is already offering 20% off MSRP left over 2022’s. And there are plenty available.

The market has cooled a lot since the peak (IIRC) of September 2021. Toyotas are still selling pretty well, but a lot of domestic trucks are just sitting on the dealer lots these days with interest rates being up. People simply can’t afford 60k and up for a pickup truck anymore, if they ever really could.

For the last six months I’ve been very very lightly thinking about trading my 2020 SR 2.7 4x4 15k miles for an OR access cab so every now and then I will check trade in value with my local dealer and offers from CarMax and Carvana, as of last week dealer offered 29,790 carmax and Carvana was around 27k.
I honestly don’t have it in me to deal with buying a new truck and here in CA dealers very rarely get Sport or OR access cabs

Trade in is never as meaningful as a straight buy offer.

Too much wiggle in the price of what is being traded for.

Yup. Same with housing. Welcome to the new economy. If it goes down, it will only be in some geographic areas and the declines will be minor and slow.

Use vehicles, maybe, but not Tacomas. Just wait until they start to ban gas vehicles. Your used Toyota Tacomas will double in price! I'm waiting for the videos of a thousand cars per day waiting to use EV hookups halfway to Vegas.

Tons of Silverados for sale right now.

Right now, in my area you can get a Silverado Custom ( basically a work truck/ base model with some exterior upgrades) for 43k for a 2023 or 38k for a 2022. They all have crazy discounts.

For the average guy who only drives a truck for a few years and longevity doesn't matter, It's going to be hard to want to pay more for a tacoma. I Think MSRP will stay the same from most manufactures but expect more discounting in the future.

A few, mainly added skids. I like leaving the suspension alone. I drive forest service dirt roafs in the desert west extremely extremely too fast. Toyota nailed this suspension going 65 across desert terrain. Changing it is dumb unless you have a specific need like crawling or mud.
I sold my 2022 PRO auto with 14k miles for exactly what I paid, including taxes. That was in January, the market is probably different now that we know g4 is on the way.

Incidentally I drove by Toyota of Laramie WY today. They had no less then 12 brand new tacos on the lot.... I about wrecked my truck looking at all them.

You can get OTD clsoe to or under $50k in a 2.7t Custom Trail Boss, not to bad for a fullsize that looks off road capable. You might be able to get a ZR2 1500 for around $60k. If you loathe GM, or have to have a Toyota, the chevy just won't cut it.
