My 04's handle has always been wobbly. Bought the truck new with 8 miles on it so I thought that was normal. Now that I work on vehicles for a living I've had a chance to see that every single 1st gen Tacoma I have driven into the shop has no wobble at all.
How do I tighten the handle in my truck? Is it a bushing like the '65 mustang I had in high school that had to be replaced?

Good to know others are having the same issue. After driving dozens of customers 1st gens mine was the only one like this.
