Thinking about trying this bracket. The mirror has a very subtle vibration when driving and I think it's probably the plastic mounting plate. They're cheap enough it's worth a try.

I installed one yesterday. And finished the camera tonight. the camera is up on a bedrack. I ran the wire half way across the bedrack, down the side, through the slot by the tail light, along the frame, into the cab at the rear vents up into the c pillar, across the headliner to the mirror. It was pain in the ass. I do like the results. IMG_2163.jpgIMG_2161.jpg

The G900 Pro rear camera is not compatible with the G900 (and vice versa), and they state that other cameras are not compatible with either mirror. So I assumed the signal must be coded in some proprietary way.

That's good info to know. I wonder if it is just because the plugs on the end aren't compatible? What about getting the video feed from the original backup camera to another brand of rear view mirror display?

The plug is the same. Not sure about your second question but the OEM backup camera works with aftermarket head units, so I would think it's possible. You'd just need the correct adapter

That seems odd, I mean the mirror end of the camera harness is a headphone jack, fairly universal no?

I went with the metal version. Had to wait a couple weeks for it to show up. I didn't like how much the plastic one flexed.

The plastic bracket is working fine for me. I need to find a way to mount the rear camera up higher though.

I still haven't mounted the rear camera yet. I can't decide on where I want it. The mirror itself is definitely growing on me. I have it to where it goes to screen saver after a few seconds and I use the regular mirror for daily driving. As soon as my new head unit shows up, I'm going to wire the factory back up camera to display on that. My bases should be covered then.

I have the anytime backup/front camera mod, so with that and the wolfbox almost everything is covered. I'd still like to find or fabricate a bracket to mount the rear wolfbox cam higher though.

Ahhh gotcha. I think what I'm going to do is mount it right below the 3rd brake light. I can drill a hole through the light to run the wire into the headliner. At least that's my plan for now. I also thought about mounting it high up on the window inside but I'm afraid the tint will distort the image.

Tint definitely has an effect on the rear camera at night. During the day, not that I can tell. I've got 20% ceramic on the front windows and 35% ceramic on the back windows.

Last night was the first night I really got to experience the rear camera. I thought it was just a crappy image. But then sitting there, waiting in a parking lot, the screen looked like the upside down world in stranger things. The fog was intense last night. As I drove away it made more sense. Today the clarity is nicer.

How is the Dongar Pro working out for you? Do you have it on continuous or 4h? Any battery issues?

It wouldn’t start twice after leaving it in 4h once and infinite once. Both times the truck was parked for over 2 weeks. I had the battery tested and it is still good. So seems like there is a constant drain.
