Hi all, was curious to see if anyone might possibly know what might be causing this womping noise in my tacoma, happens at high way speed starting at 60mph. It does not make this noise below that speed, as I accelerate past 60 it sort of speeds up a little. It is lifted 3 Inches with brand new Ironman all terrain tires, could this be a balance and alignment issue? Last time this was done was before hunting season and I do remember hitting some rough roads during it. This isn't my daily driver, and do not have a jack to jack it up and check for wheel bearing and such. Done replaced the needle bearing on the driver side with the bushing. Just curious if anyone may know before I take it to someone that tries to rip me off

Sounds like normal tire noise to me, ATs and MTs are known to make womping sounds like that at speed, particularly the more aggressive the tread is

I really don't remember it doing this when I got the tires before hunting season started, I know that's months ago but since I've gotten them they don't even have 4k miles on them

You mentioned it’s not your daily driver. How often do you drive it? Does it sit for long periods where tires might get flat spots? I’d bet you would hear much more “womping” if this is the case, just mentioning it it’s a possibility.

I drive it once or twice a week to get groceries or something like that, I guess about a 10 mile round trip once a week or a little more. It shouldn't have flat spots, I immediately checked tire pressure when the problem first came about

    Hmm . . . none as yet, that's why i'm here . . .
My thoughts are also related to tires.
