    Hello fellow TW'ers!

    2005 DCSB 6sp Manual V6

So I've got a strange pulsing vibe at ~60mph @ ~2200rpm in 6th gear or ~2600rpm in 5th gear. When I turn harder left on the high way the vibe gets much quieter, then returns when I straighten out.
There is a clunk when I put the truck into 1st gear or after the engine has rev'd down between gears, not when I shift quickly; and a chirp when not accelerating or decelerating. I try not to drop the clutch so I don't think its just my shit-tastic shifting.

I've replaced the Drivers side bearing already thinking this was the problem with the vibe (Didn't fix the issue)

I've done as much reading on here as I can and I'm thinking the issue has to do with either the wheel bearing on the passengerside, the drive line U joints or both?

I've gone under the truck while its in 1st and parked and yanked on the drive line and i haven't noticed any play.

Do I have to raise the rear of the truck and have it in Neutral in order to check for a loose drive line and U joints?

    Any Ideas?

To check the u-joints you need to pull the drive shaft.

It sounds like you have both issues. Do you feel the vibration in the seat? That points to drive shaft u joints.

Thanks @Jimmyh Feeling a vibe through the whole floor.

I could have sworn there was a way to check the U joints without pulling the whole Driveshaft, I just can't find the page now.

Well you might be able to tell with it in if it is severely worn about to fall out, but if it is just worn out you might not be able to tell. Hit and miss. Best to remove and inspect them all.

The center carrier bearing could also cause similar symptoms.

I remember some mechanic noting that the carrier bearing was on its out. It's raining cats and dogs out here so I'm going to to have to wait till later in the week to pull the drive shaft. Thanks for your input man!

Luckily those parts are all pretty cheap on rock auto
