Yea that was the bushing I was referring to... if you've already changed that, then maybe it is the solenoids. I am of zero help with auto trans lol

If the transmission is full of fluid , chances are this is not a solenoid issue but more of a pressure problem .
No solenoids are used for reverse inside the A 340 series transmission .I could understand one solenoid going out but its uncommon for all the solenoids to go out at the same time
If your having issues getting the truck to move while accelerrating in either direction , I would be double checking the fluid level first as mentioned in the early posts here
Engine must be running in park with the transmission warmed up - what does the dipstick say ?
If you are checking the fluid without the engine running , you will be very low on fluid once you start the truck
This happens at Tacoma world a lot , so we need to get this out of the way

Next , you will need a pressure gauge to verify the transmission pump is supplying enough pressure for your foward clutch and the reverse clutch to apply properly
Is there a cable on your throttle body going down to the transmission ?
That cable tells the transmission where your foot is on the gas pedal .
If the cable came off or went out of adjustment for some reason , your truck will not move well .
I see you recently did a head gasket .
Need to get this out of the way as this happens a lot at Tacoma World .

It would help if you could identify your transmission . Some years did use a pressure control solenoid instead of a cable . In that case , the pressure control solenoid could warrant replacement

I’ll double check the trans fluid tomorrow. I wanna say I do have a transmission kick down cable on the TB? I have 3 cables going to the TB. What sort of pressure gauge would I get and where would I hook this up to?
    Thanks for the reply @gearcruncher

Yep, you do. That didn't change until 03 when they did away with it.

I actually was just looking at this the other day. This video isn't a Tacoma but it gives you a really good idea on how to adjust. Below illustration and steps are for the tacoma.

100% agree with @gearcruncher that there is sometimes a disconnect on the proper way to check the trans fluid level. This is the process I follow based on the AT Precheck Info from Toyota.

I would skip the pressure gauge purchase for now .
With the information posted above this post , thats going to give you the tools you need to verify you are getting the correct pressure.
Over the years , those cables stretch and you end up with one very slippery transmission .
People dont know to make yearly tweaks to the cable .
They get use to the transmission shifting very early and very soft

Ok so this is my cold reading, right where my thumb is. Kinda weird. And I checked it 3 times.

This is the hot reading. And guess what! It drove around the parking lot just fine. Zero issues. But I’m still getting a weird hot reading. Again, it goes up to my thumb. Maybe I need to get it a little hotter?

Drove around a bit more and we now have a better reading. Even took it on the road and driving fine so far. I’m just stumped on what could’ve been going on.

I'll revise what I listed (fluid check). I grabbed it from one of my other posts and just pasted. Your cold level with engine not running is fine. When you have it running, its going to drop since the system is running.

If it were me, I'd add just a little more so the level is reading in the middle of both hot marks. Fluid level is good though.

Not sure why it was giving you an issue the other day. Did you check your throttle cable (aka kickdown cable) yet? How's that look?

Ya I checked it and the nuts were still on their tight. And it’s never given me a problem before. I didn’t measure them to see if they were in that 1mm spec but I will. Took it on the freeway, ran some errands, now just drove it to the gym. So far so good. I am perplexed

With 359 K , its not uncommon for the trans to develope some gremlins .
More like a notification from the transmission department that you need to have a plan in place should this happen again .
Aluminum valve bodies like to expand and contract . When there is crap floating around in the fluid , that junk can and will
jam up your hydraulic spool valves .
You also have multiple tiny rubber checkballs in the valve body. Every time the transmission shifts , those tiny check balls are forced to block a hole .
Eventually the check ball wears enough to the point where the check ball gets stuck in the hole and you end up with a no move condition
