I bought a brand new 2017 Toyota Tacoma SR. 4X4. Don’t know much about trucks. I put blocks in the rear and spacers in the front for a little lift. And I put 285/70/R17 on it. It’s a 4 cyl, and it’s making my truck shift weird. RPM’s get really high and they stay high. Any suggestions on what I should do to make it shift normal again.

Have you asked the dealer you bought the truck from?
It's new so you should have a warranty.
Although they will probably blame the huge wheels.
Sometimes it's best to really research and then ask the dealer for warranty issue when doing any modifications.:notsure:

The truck was fine when I first got it. The tires are bogging it down or something. Not sure. I’ve only driven 2,000 miles in it. I bought it with only 55 miles.

Its getting bad, Im almost broke.
Nothing to do with warranty work. Youll need to re-gear to. Heck, even the v6 shifts erratically with what youve done. There are countless threads on this forum with the same complaints.

So go with a smaller tire?

You could go back to stock and it will fix the problem.

Any idea what I would need to go to if I was to do the gearing? And do you think an all terrain would make it better?

The more traction your tire has the more it grips the road, thus the more energy it takes to turn it. Do some reading and searching on this forum. Lots of gearing threads.
