Wondering if Siri Eyes Free works without Entunes enabled trucks

I'm trying to see if Siri Eyes free will work in my 2019 Tacoma SR5 and I'm seeing mixed messages. I've seen some say to use the Voice assistant button but then other say you have to use the Hang up button to summon Siri. I haven't tried the new button yet as I just found it as an option. I was hoping I could get some feedback before I leave work and go try it. My biggest thing is I would really like to respond to a text hands free. It's illegal in out state and I'm getting tired of having to pull over all the time as a lot of the text is work related and needs a quick response. So any help would be great.

 

I have an SR but use siri through the trucks' speakers. I set my phone to respond when I say "Hey SIRI" and that starts it. The one time I tried the hang up button it just listed all the commands but no SIRI. You also need to check "Play notifications" in the setup menu and maybe on your phone. When i get a text, Siri sends a tone through the speakers and a box pops up asking me to select Play or ignore.

 

I get text no problem on the screen and it plays it when i do the play or ignore. So that's working great but I wanted to be able to respond to the text. I tried the voice prompt button and that said my phone wasn't able to or I can't remember the correct wording. I did go into Siri and changed it from Always on to Hand-Free only. So I will test that as soon as I get out of work. So this thread has definitely helped me. I will post tomorrow or possibly later tonight if it worked better. Just need to see which button on the steerign wheel will work. i will try both. Thank you

You hold down the answer call button (not hang up) and it will also wake Siri up.
