I ended up getting it, and it took me a little while to get it on as I had no instructions for a while, until I found them on the Westin website, I love how it came out! It is the first big addition I have added to my truck and I am really happy with the work I put in and how it looks. I think it is a good preface for future modifications as well. Let me know what you guys think!

Guard is only good for low speed impacts, on high speed it can bent the frame. If you are lucky, it can break itself and not the frame.

I have always wondered how police cars use them and ram during pursuit, there has to be other way and we don't know about it.

I have a 2009 with a Go Rhino and the lower mounts go on the front crush bar Tacoma bolts so I have come down on mine many times off ledges and works well.
Many opinions on how they look some like them some do not so up to the owner.
As to more front end damage if I hit/get hit that hard insurance will cover it so who cares.
I have my LED off road lights on the cross bar.
Guards are powder coated so sand and Rustoleum will cover them up and they will look new. Just do a few light coats within an hour and if you feel you need more paint on them you need to wait 48 hours then spray again - if you follow the can directions they hold up well - I have mine off now as truck getting painted soon (Maaco) and the front guard is getting a black satin respray too by me.

I like the look of brush guards myself. Probably a Texas thing. It looks good. My truck had one when I bought it. That exact model. Upgraded to a steel bumper when I could so I could run a winch too.
