    Are you calculating properly?

I get 265 miles "per tank" before I go to fill up.

But when I fill up I am putting in 17 gallons, not 21.

Workman has noticed a loss of 3-4 mpg by using fuel that contains ETHANOL. Therefore, Workman only uses the one shell gas station in town that as regular fuel, and he fills up with the 91. Workman has also maintained his truck by the book, using all synthetic fluids, and runs 265/75/16's. Workman usually gets 20-23mpg, except when its below zero degrees in the winter. Then He's looking at getting 18-20.

    Workman hates ETHANOL

There are no stations here that carry 100% gasoline here :(

Workman feels your pain. He had a job in Salt Lake City from May-October this year, and he could not find regular gas ANYWHERE. Luckily, Workman was out of town working across the country most of the time, so he didn't drive more than 2K all summer. When He was is SLC, he mostly rode his bike around to get groceries and run errands, because he hated ETHANOL so much, and because Workman likes to ride bikes....

It was amazing how much the ethanol affected his gas mileage. He was used to always getting 20+ prior to going down to SLC, and never got above 18mpg that he can remember on SLC gas. Every time Workman fills up, he resets the OD and divides miles driven by gallons put in...

I'm pushing 20 MPG with a V6 2007 4wd Double Cab, slightly lifted with 265/70R17 A/T tires. Keep up on maintenance and go light on the skinny pedal. When was the last time you changed the plugs or air filter?

I'll drop to 14 - 15 MPG on extended highway runs so driving conditions matter.

'09 2WD DCSB V6. I drive 50 miles a day, about 50% of it highway but many times in rush hour traffic (slow and go, 35mph stuff). When it opens up I go 75, not a heavy foot, but definitely not light. Blow the carbon out good every once in a while getting around moronic drivers.

With the stock steelies and 245/75/16 tires, I consistently got 20.5mpg.

Got the rear spring TSB done and switched to TRD alloy wheels and 265/70/16 tires. Dropped to about 19mpg.

Put Bilstein 5100's on all corners with the fronts set at 0.85. Now I get 20.7mpg.

Go figure. Less wind resistance now that the truck is more level? I thought it was the tires that made me take the hit.

When I change my sprrk plugs, do I need to gap them? That could affect MPGs I think...

Well thank you guys for all these good answers. I drive a lot of city and red lights hate me so I catch a lot of them, I don't have a heavy foot all the time but every once in a while I do lol. But I'm going out now to check the filter, maf sensor and might get new plugs since i just had an oil change.

1st off Love Workmans posts! #2, I average around 15-16 with city/highway driving to work and city driving all the rest of the time. I also have a habbit of leaving my defrost on, so I know that adds on too.
