I don't like banning folks from the site, so I issued warnings this time. If you got a warning, that means next issue is time off.

Are you sure it's not the delay in shifting that's causing it to hit the limiter? I know with a lot of rental cars I'm in that have this feature you have to tell the car to shift 2-3 seconds before you need it.

So is someone willing to go out and shift out of 2nd, at 5500, in S mode, with your foot flat on the floor, and then tell me what happens? That would help.
    and thx

FWIW, Mine (Jeep) wont shift out of gear, unless I manually shift it when its in manual mode (No "Sport" Mode as....well...Its a Jeep). It will bang against the limiter until I manually shift.

Light it on fire. Buy another Tacoma. With a manual. No further shifting issues. ;)

OK the Group Hug is over, Now I have another question.
Is the rear end like a conventional (old GM) 3rd member. Can you just slip the axles out and pull the pumpkin? I want to put a tru track in my truck. Are there any hidden problems?
    thx

Not much sanity around here. We have some good members, and quite knowledgeable. We've had some trolls post in the past, so that's probably why things got off to a rocky start. This place is a good place with helpful and friendly members. Sanity..........not so much.

:) I just can't go back to anything associated with Dodge. Too many repair bills (I had really bad luck). My '06 taco went 120k with just oil changes. Hopefully the third gen lives up to expectations.

Oh, I hear that. My Dodge was in the shop half the time I owned it. I got the Jeep, as my cousins have a couple, with over 100k miles, and no issues. I figured.....F-it......If it burns down, or is a POS, at least it has re sale value.

The best feature about Jeeps are that you can dingy tow them. Also helps when they break down.
