I have a buddies 03 2.7 automatic that I am looking at. runs good but slight roughness at idle, but that's not the problem. After It's been driven and you stop to fill it with fuel it doesn't want to restart. Any other time it starts fine. I have narrowed it down to no injector pulse, crank it over 2 or 3 times and it starts but seems to be flooded then clears out and runs and starts fine until the next fill-up. It has random miss fire code and evap purge code (needs a canister). Do you think it's sucking fuel thru the evap system when full? Hard to believe but anything is possible. My scanner dose not read the crank or cam signals (Autel MS906) Anybody have any ideas? I'm thinking the crank sensor is bad, but hard to believe it doesn't happen more often. I hate to just throw parts at it, If I remember right the crank sensor is a pita to change.

You can flood the evap canister if you top off while fueling up. But yeah, check the evap related valves and solenoids.

Yes that is true but he just fills it to when it clicks off. But what I don't understand is why its loosing injector pulse.

Does the truck start fine if you just fill 3/4 of the tank?

Id need someone to fact check me. But it could possible run the truck runs solely on the vapers from the purge after a refuel? Seems the only reason the ecu would not fire injectors

yea, I'm going to have to do some more testing. maybe disconnect the evap at the intake manifold and see what happens. I'll keep everyone posted as to what happens and if I find the problem.
