Really like this, looks awesome. If you don't mind me asking, how much did the upholstery work come to?

I bought the faux leather [vinyl] at Keystonbros.com, at their warehouse/store in San Francisco. I bought 9 yards of "honey", which was the predominant one I used, and 2 yards of "Whiskey", which is what I used for the trim and armrest. This came to about $200, but I did buy a little more than was needed. The labor to do it was $1400.

Thanks. I bought the truck because I loved the exterior styling and color of the Quicksand. That being said, I hated the interior but there was really no choice of color there. I wanted to compliment the outside color with an interior that I thought, went with it well. The first thing I did was the Coverking seat covers. They fit just like original seat, so most people don't even realize they are seat covers. But then, the door, dash panel, and center console covering was something I had to think about for a while! BUT, in my mind, I felt it would look really great, and after visiting the local auto upholster, and seeing what he had done to other vehicles, I was completely sold in my mind on having him do this for me, once I bought the vinyl.

    Lots, straight from the factory.
I prefer the all black, but that’s my preference. You did a good job on the install and if you like it, that’s all that really matters.

I remember back in the first Maxima I had, my wife was discarding an old Louis Vuitton purse. I cut that thing to pieces and trimmed out the dash in LV monogram. I thought it was badass. I loved it. Then I posted it on Maxima.org. I had never felt so shitty, not had I been on a car forum. I kept it, but I didn’t like it as much as I had when I put it in. now I’m older and wiser, and if some assclown on a forum doesn’t like what I did to the vehicle I dropped $30k on, well then he can make my truck payment and have a say in it, or he can go piss up a rope.

Don’t let the haters discourage you. Do what you like for your truck and be happy. Your installation was good.

What sticker? And if you don't like it, that's ok but there is no need to say it looks like shit. This is a very helpful forum and is a great place to take and to give back. Anything else is not warranted. Some day, you might need help from here...

Not my cup of tea, but thank you for sharing. It does make me feel nostalgic and as these colors remind me of my 1994 Toyota Camery and my grandparents old 80' Cadillac

Not my cup of tea, but even with that said, I think this looks overdone and therefore - a little cheap. What I mean by that is the goal should be to make it look like it came from the factory, right? Well, having a wood trim piece around the CD slot just seems like you put a sticker there, where as having it on the glove box seems more realistic. The factory probably wouldn't put a small wooden trim piece around some of the places where OP has it, and that's the part I dislike most. Remove a few pieces and the 'feel' of the whole tuck might work better IMO.

    Suggestion:
I think I'd probably remove some pieces and paint them quicksand, rather than have some of the pieces be covered in wood grain, where no wood grain would typically exist from the factory.

Completely agree, could be nice if used sparingly...

You made some good points. Actually, I DID remove some of the pieces that are in the video, such as those on the sides of the armrests, and in the upper corners of the doors. I also removed those from the center console. Thanks.

I actually agree too, but at the time, I did this because the whole dang interior was BLACK and was driving me crazy to look at! I wanted to brighten up the interior, and I admit that I would have preferred the real wood to not be laminated, as I agree, that does look SO 70s! And since making the video, I did remove some of the pieces such as those on the door handles, and in the upper corners of the doors, as well as those on the center console. We agree!

I think I probably missed those. I believe those were some of the 'tacky' ones I was thinking of, so I imagine it looks better now

I'm glad you found a way to make sure you like it though. That's what's important.

How about the people who like the black interior that you keep saying is awful? How about their feels? There is no need to say that. C'mon guy this is a helpful forum. Anything else is unwarranted.
