    Thank you.

    Greenland Corporation
    http://www.greenpluslubes.com/

Greenplus Chain Saw-Bar Oil ES has excellent lubricating properties, often reducing consumption of oil by 50% when compared to petroleum based oil. Greenplus Chain Saw-Bar Oil ES significantly reduces operator health hazards associated with the use of mineral oil, such as skin, eye and lung irritations. Greenplus Chain Saw-Bar Oil ES is not just rapidly biodegradable, operator friendly and made from renewable resources but is environmentally safe.

Greenplus Chain Saw-Bar Oil ES will reduce oil consumption during operations because it has the ability to adhere to metal and to itself. Less oil is thrown off moving parts, Greenplus stays on the part and continues to lubricate.

    • Greenplus Chain Saw-Bar Oil ES is designed for high speed chain saws where extreme pressure and temperatures exist.
    • Greenplus Chain Saw-Bar Oil ES has excellent lubricating properties to extend chain life.
    • Greenplus Chain Saw-Bar Oil reduces power requirement during cutting by reducing friction.
    • Greenplus Chain Saw-Bar Oil ES gives a lower bar tip temperature.

I could not find much on the web about this one.

Made from a vegetable oil base, STIHL BioPlus™ oil is the environmentally conscious way to keep your bar and chain lubricated. This bar and chain oil offers excellent flow characteristics, even at low temperatures, while remaining less harmful to humans and the environment when compared to traditional oils. BioPlus™ oil is also highly biodegradable, degrading by 93.8% in only 21 days, as rated by the Coordinating European Council. It’s the ideal balance of preservation and performance for green-minded users.

I am totally with using chain and bar oil only, but, if stihl make a bio-oil, I will consider it, next time I am buying some.

They sell creosote remover (really just something that makes it dry out and flake off) for very reasonable prices. Not sure why people keep coming up with 'alternatives' like rock salt and aluminum cans
Personally, I wouldn't do it. I expect that the benefit of burning the aluminum is more due to the hot fire required to 'really melt 'em down' drying your flue out than it is to any chemical reaction with the creosote :notsure:

I actually do not have a problem with creosote....my brother was asking if I have ever heard of the method(I never have) I burned shit wood for 3 years and only got a 5 gallon pale, just this year, I mirrored it every year....always looked clean. I did decide to brush every year now. I was just wondering if anyone ever even heard of it.

I rarely have any trouble with it either. But I also burn seasoned wood in a properly-functioning stove. :notsure:

Usually this is what I get when I clean the chimney out in the fall, before the burn season starts, from an average of 5 cord per year over the last couple of winters:

I have been of the conclusion that my pipes draw better when clean. I have let the pipes go until needed, to be certain, and seen the result immediately.
Not that there is a lot of creosote, but the clean pipe draws better and reduces the chance of 'puffing' or 'backdraft'.
A clean catalytic combuster, too. We tried cleaning one a few weeks ago, anfd then the other day replaced it with a ceramic model.

If you burn dry , seasoned wood and have your chimney cleaned once a year you shouldn't really have any issues

it's amazing how many people will cut it, split it, and throw it right in the stove, though.
