I have a 8' x 5' Wells Cargo trailer that has the crappy metal roof bows, and the roof / framing is too low. I'm converting it to a mobile BBQ / smoker shelter... I want to do two gable end commercial fans to deal with the smoke, and I'd like to just take the current roofing off and replace it with a wood framed gable with like a 4/12 pitch. That way, I get the gable ends for the fans, I get headroom to move around, and I can put in 12" wide alternating solid and translucent roofing panels for the roofing. Anybody here ever done such a whacky thing?

You need to go over to the terdrop n tiny travel trailer forum (tnttt.com).
They have a cargo trailer forum. Someone there has likely done something like this.
