    Maybe?

I really need to take care of the rust first. It's mostly just surface rust but some spots need to be descaled.

understandable. I would definitely pull your sliders as well. I took some time sanding and painting some areas on the infiniti when we got it. On the tacoma I had to repaint the sliders, so i pulled them off and found some rust there. Upon reinstall of the sliders I sprayed the hell out of the two faces that would join together so when it was fully bolted together it oozed out everywhere lol

Yeah well my sliders look like shit right now as well. Taking them off and painting them is definitely needed!
I also need to paint my bumper again as well!

If i had to do my sliders again I would most likely pay someone to sandblast them. Getting off the duplicolor bedliner was a PIA. Definitely preferring the harder rust oleum brand bedliner

Have they taken any good hits? If so, when you take them off there could be stresses in the sliders that will make it a PITA or impossible to put back on.

Y'all reminding me my sliders are janky too :( I definitely painted them horribly. Try acetone though, obviously would be hard to do an acetone bath but that would strip the rattlecan bedliner pretty quick. I might call a few places and see if they can do a bedliner for me, and then just touch it up on my own in the future. See how much that would cost. :(

itll be like 600+ to have linex done. They won't do their top of the line one on them either. That also probably doesn't include stripping them clean. I looked into it a few times.

No, not really. Damn, that's more than I was hoping. Guess I'll be doing a shoddy job myself again then! Or just nix them. Same reason I don't want 10 ply instead of 6, I don't want to go anywhere where that 10 ply makes the difference to get there or not vs a 6. I want full skids but I don't want to go anywhere where having sliders gets me somewhere I couldn't get to with just skids.

Oh I definitely have had some good hits on my sliders but I've taken them off and put them back on with no troubles at all. I would definitely not do a professional grade job on sliders, bumpers maybe but not sliders.

@jpereira2 a lot of people have had problems with the rustoleum sticking. I'm just going to take them off, knock the rust off of them and recoat. I'm not concerned about getting all the previous coating off. I'm just going to cover is left of it.

I got a brand new Tacoma that just showed up to the dealer and would love to get in on this as well. I could jump in on the first available slot on your Nov 7th date. I could also do the 31st of October, whichever you would prefer. Thanks! Ill be coming from just over the border in RI so I might have to quarantine for two weeks when I arrive

Yea its not a bad gig. I also don't charge a fortune so it gives guys a chance to hang out (pre covid) and also they would spend the same if not more. I've had people come from a couple hours away lol
