Just did the "disable seatbelt chime" mod last night. Took about 30 secs and worked like a charm.

I wear my seatbelt anytime my truck is moving. Period.

so if you back your truck out of the garage into the driveway so you can wash it, you buckle up? I'm all about being buckled, but under certain circumstances it can be overkill, which is what I was trying to describe.

Firstly, I don't back out, I would have backed in to pull out forward in a safer manner.

Second, I currently don't have a garage, just park in the driveway.

So your example is hereby null and void.

I park in the garage headfirst because I'd need a backup camera. I have to park about 4" from the wall (and I manage to do it without a tennis ball).

Face it, I'm just too much rebel for you :D

Whether or not you where a seatbelt on PRIVATE property is your own business. I personally do not wear a seatbelt when out at the ranch I work on, most dangerous thing that could happen would be hittin a cow going 2 miles an hour. When you continually get in and out of the vehicle for extended periods of time you will understand

When I've done this it works the first time and resets when I turn the truck off. Did I do something wrong or do you have to to this everytime?

    Well, Congratufuckilations, Eh.

I don't think I used Eh right since it's a statement and not a question but it sounded good at the time.

Did this on my 08' last night after reading it! Works like a charm!

Now I can set my backpack on the front seat without it annoying the crap out of me!

That's true and I always wear a belt when traveling on the roads but it's annoying as hell when I hop in the truck to back the boat in or pull it from the water. :)

This is a legitimate reason for doing this mod.

Personally, what I place on the passenger seat is never heavy enough to set off the seat belt alarm though.

This was easy, did it on my 2011 last night. Not sure why people say it doesn't work.

Not sure why some people have a hard time believing there are times when your truck is moving, but there is essentially zero risk of anything happening that wearing a seatbelt would help.

I'm under the assumption that this will not work on a 2007 Prerunner? Yes, I did give it a try.

You know the thing that gets me is that seat-belts are required yet motorcycles are legal. When I'm in my truck I've got a lot more protection than that which is afforded to a biker wearing his/her proper protective equipment, yet I'm still required to wear a seat-belt. Now I think wearing a seat-belt is a good idea- I just don't think it is right for the government or Toyota to give me grief if I choose not to.

If anybody can figure out what the factory mod for the white gauges in the 2011 Toyotas is, please please please post it. I've been trying all sorts of random things and still haven't gotten it.

Why not just go to a salvage yard and cut the buckles off of a wrecked vehicle and just "click it and forgit it"

I personally wear mine, but this seems like a simple non permanent fix.

Well the thing about that is that you would have to remove the buckle whenever you actually wanted to put your seat-belt on. Sometimes it's nice to drive up the driveway to your house without your belt on after you get the mail. Little things like that...

I can see where that would be a hassle...
