I've got a training question here...

A while back I was squatting and had pain on the inside of my right thigh, its only on the right side. I had a physical done around that time and had the sports medicine doc take a look at my legs and also the doc that was giving me the physical looked at my legs and abdomen, there were no signs of a hernia. This led me to believe that I had a groin strain. I quit squatting for awhile and then just this month got back into it heavy. The pain is back in the same spot, on the same leg. I need this to go away, squats are an integral part of my workout.

What are some things I can do to aid in the healing of this strain? Any good exercises or stretches that I can do? Also, what's the best form for deep squats? I usually have my feet pointed out and set a little wider then shoulder width. Do I pull my feet in closer together and point them straight? Are adductor exercises ok to do while I am recovering from this strain?

Also what other things can I do during this time to take the place of standard back squats? Whats ok and whats not?

Like I said, I need this to go away ASAP and would appreciate any advice on this.

While training heavy u are bound to injure yourself, it's just the nature of the beast.
I pulled my hammy the other month and used a product (recommended by my trainer) called "KT tape" stuff works great. I would go light and avoid legs for 1-2weeks. After upon returning try front squats on the smith. I rarely do standard squats.
On a side note, r u taking glutamine? It helps with muscle recovery.

I don't take it on a regular basis. What form of glutamine do you recommend? I'm guessing you used the KT tape to compress your hammy? I've been reading up on groin strains and they say doing a compression is good along with heat and icing. I've got an ice pack and anti inflammatory's and a heating pad but no compression tape.

Just powder form. I take 1 scoop (5g) b4 workout, 2 scoops after, and another 2 with my mid day shake.
KT tape is awesome. It works for many things; u can find it at Sports Authority or Big 5

Got it. Its a little hectic right now to be ordering things and getting shit shipped here to me so I'll lay off the squats and go light till I get back to CO and pick up that tape at one of those places. Looks like you can get it at Dicks too.

Yea it sucks ass. Gotta get lots of stuff shipped in (supps, books, good quality workout gear, truck mods etc), shipping is expensive too! Also since its an island with only 60 miles of paved road you get a little stir crazy! The rest of the roads are dirt and passable via single purpose OHV or ATV only. There's even dirt roads in the middle of town!

Its farkin expensive to live here too, gas on the base is 4.37 for 87 and 4.60 for 89. Even higher in town. For rent I pay over twice for a studio apartment what I would pay there for the same quality and size place.

Its been a long 2 years and I'm happy to leave! :yay::yay::yay::yay::yay:

Are you working out in Converse shoes? haha

My old hockey coach used to be a body builder to but he was in a bigger weight class than you. I believe he held the Canadian record for bench-press in his weight class for 550lbs but he got beat a while back.

When I get back down to civilization I'll go try on the 5 fingers. Saw a marine wearing them in the gym today, he swore up and down how legit they are.

Just started working out recently, mainly due to P.T. for the Air Force twice a month. What would somebody recommend for me, I wanna gain a six-pack quick and really need some more muscle in my upper body(Mostly arms) 5'4, 115 lbs. By the way I have no access to weights or any workout equipment.
