You do realize the first number is the width, and the second number is the height of the sidewall, as a percentage of the width, or aspect ratio?

So the 245 series is narrower than the 265, regardless of the sidewall height.

25mpg is easy. Don't rev rpm over 2k and don't drive over 35mph. I do it all the time.

just over 100 miles and 4 gallons of gas is not much of an "average".

What are you getting on average from an extended period of time? say a tank? or a month?

That's a tough one to call. Two different pumps will have different stop points, each saying the tank is "full" at different levels. And for only ~102 miles, a .25 gallon imbalance would be 1.5mpg less (24.96 mpg/4.117 gallons vs. 23.54/4.367 gallons.

Either way though, unless the pump at the end of your trip was stupid, that's pretty damn good. Congrats on the nice MPG!

I admit the Bridgestone is a better tire than Donlop but I have always got better MPGs on narrower tires.I bet a 245/75/16 Bridgestone would be even better than the Dunlop.

I call BS ... since when is plus gas CHEAPER THEN REGULAR GAS? and I agree with an above post... 4 gallons of gas is not an average... If we are calculating mpgs based on 4 gals of gas or a few miles: I just 99 miles per gallon yesterday coasting down a hill in Neutral ....all kidding aside....wish I was getting close to your reported mpgs

I switched from the stock Duplops to 265-70-16 Yokohama HTS and saw no drop in MPG.

When I was driving I could have cared less if a 4 wheeler was tailgating me. It's not like he was gonna do much more than bend the load lock if he ran into me. The load in my truck shifting a little would be be felt more than them!

Plus gas is always cheaper up here. Of course, it has more ethanol in it, hence the cheaper price. I can't ever get better mileage with the Plus shit, truck doesn't like it at all.
