Put them on and see. If they rub lift the truck...and so it begins.

the caps is a nice touch btw

You should be good with that size tire and not rubbing.

Stick with a 17x8 to 17x8.5 wheel with a +0 offset. If you go with a -10 you have a chance to rub.

Unless you go with a huge offset in your rims (where the wheel mounting surface is compared to the outside edge of the rime) you should be just fine.

i was thinking about the cooper discoverer a/t 265/70r17's with the american racing baja 17x9 -12mm

but thats where my old mind cant wrap my head around the entire -12mm (i just want a little "poke" i guess)

    Hi,

50 ish is no big deal. I got my 1st in my 50ish. Love it. Not sure what rim you have now. I think you would be fine also, but I never ran a 17” so don’t go by me. If you have a 17” now it is probably 265/65r17. Going to a 70 will give you about an inch sidewall height more, but not much more if any in cross section so should be fine.

If you are not changing suspension personally I would run a 265/70r16. You will not get the 1” difference of the 70 but get more sidewall for a nicer look in my opinion. Just my opinion (my wife says that does not matter)

My TRD Sport came with factory mud flaps and 265/65/17 tires on factory 17x7.5 wheels with 30mm offset. I changed to the 4runner wheels 17x7 4mm and 265/70/17 Cooper Discoverer AT3 4S tires. Suspension will stay stock and the factory mud flaps will stay too. End result - periodic, minimal rubbing on a small protruding piece of the driver's side mud flap that I'll address with a heat gun and mallet if it bugs me too much. I was surprised to see that the wheel wells are not the same size on both sides of the truck. I found wheel-size.com to be useful. I only have 1300kms on the truck but love the tires (quiet with great dry and wet grip).

Like most things on this site, watch out for rabbit holes - with so much good info and tonnes of different opinions/styles I've been driven to over-thinking and over worrying things big and small. You'll get lost on here if you have OCD (e.g. interior chrome delete threads/quests). If you do run into a problem though, you'll find at least one (and usually several) fixes that'll meet your needs/style/comfort level.

They are basically identical as far as tire and wheel fitment. The wheel well is the same and the suspension geometry is the same with the exception of the pro which has a slightly higher ride height in front.

I'm running 275/70R17 on my SR5 with the TRD SEMA 4runner wheels but I also did an Icon 2.5 front and RXT stage 2 leaf/Icon 2.0 in the rear. I rub with the lift at full lock when really compressing the front but it's minimal. I know you're stock but this should help give you an idea.
