This is the exact setup you are looking at. Very minor rubbing on mudflaps.

Another picture out the poke. The tread of the tire is under the truck but the "belly" of the tire is out

    I rub with 265/70/17 (Duratracs) , 17x8 +0, even with mudflaps off.
Only while turning and compression (eg. turning into a driveway)
Still trying to figure out where it rubs, but it is minor.

I am the exception though, as most people report that you will not rub.

Unfortunately, you're not the exception. Did you figure out where it rubs? Mine is rubbing, only on the driver side, but I can't see any wear on anything to identify the rub spot.

I never figured it out - no marks that I can see. I just learned to deal with it.

I’m rocking 265/75/16 Ultraterrains on +0mm wheels and don’t rub, so I would agree you’re an outlier. You should post where you run once you find out. I’m curious.

X2 Having the caster adjusted took care of mine. Was only rubbing on driveways. The caster adjustment moved the front wheels forward about an half inch.

Positive offset moves the wheel in.
Negative offset pushes the wheel out.

On my SR, the stock steel wheels had 25mm offset.
    I put on some 17” 4Runner SR5 wheels with 15mm offset.
    Tires are 265/70R17 Duratracs.

From what everyone says, no problems with this tire size. I agree, no issues with mine.

However, -12 offset is pushing you tire out almost 1-1/2”, so it might/could start rubbing. I don’t know enough to say, so you’ll have to talk to others about that.

So - the tire will fit. Don’t know how wide you can swing it.
