Worst accessory sold with the truck

Aye, not really an accessory but so far the only thing I hate on my truck.

 

My wife was ready to pay $35 more per month for the paint package and a weak-ass extended warranty on her new hyundai until I pointed out that it meant $2100 over the life of the loan. Froggin' scam.

Oh, and to answer the question - the bed extender is useless. That's what they make $10 ratchet straps for.

 

Mine's accurate too. Takes about 10 minutes of driving to register accurately, but from there it's rarely more than 1-2 degrees off.

In my mind, a bunch of Japanese guys who work for Toyota are sitting in the first Tacoma to roll off the production line. The guy in the passenger seat opens the glove box which promptly slams down and spills all of the shit out onto the floor.

Thus, a 30 second designed dampener.

 

I agree with the tailgate, especially with the 5ft bed.. a crotch rocket back tire sits right on its weakest point. Since the first time i strapped it in it has never been the same.. I tore it apart and threw some angle iron inside of it the other day and it helped it out.

 

I like the temp gauge and compass.

Most useless thing on the truck originally where the BFG Rugged Fails and the tailgate that bent with me sitting on it.

The rear seat in the 09+ access cab sucks. I love the one in my 2005, I keep the seats folded down so its just a flat storage spot behind the seats, perfect for my dog and my gear. Can't do it with the '09+.

 

Mine too, no problems at all. Accurate with both local weather websites and radio station reports. Nice option to have in colder climates, especially when approaching freezing weather (ice, etc.)

 

worst fucking theing ever = the TRD OFFROAD PACKAGE!!! you pay an extra 7 thousand dollars for cheap ass bilsteins and some rubbers that wear down worse than a detroit stripper...... should have bought a basic model and put my own offroad package... amen

Same here. But I find it amusing that a snowflake pops up to tell me there's a danger of freezing, because I'd never figure that out on my own when the temperature drops to, you know, FREEZING!

 

you can get the towing package seperatly and do a cheap mod yourself for the inverter.... not worth 7 thousand

dont get me wrong i absolutely love my truck but everytime i thinkk that i sopent 7 thousand for that stuff i think damn if i had that extra cash to put my own lift on... now we are talking some serious muddin and jumping!!

 

I had them on a Dodge pickup and loved them. Do they suck on the Tacoma? We get, and I figure you do, lots of days in the winter where the half frozen moisture never leaves the mirror on my 40 mile morning commute.
