I have never used the bed outlet because I don't have anything that draws that low amperage that I need to use. Can it be wired for higher amps rating?

I have actually heard some really great systems, including the system I had installed in a car of mine years ago. For a OEM upgraded system in the price range that the Tacoma is in the JBL system actually sounds pretty good. You can't compare it to an aftermarket system.

The 2012's do that. You should check if they will fit in yours.

Mine came with the Toyota bug guard hood protector. After seeing how it was mounted i removed it, sawed it up in little pieces, and threw it in the trash.

Hated the Toyota bug guard hood protector the way it mounts is just stupid.

I use my bed outlet to power the lights to our vendor tent when I go on vacation don't need my crappy generator anymore.

    Stock for now.
Worst thing was the tires that come with the new truck, Dunlop AT-26. Why woudl you put on a street tire, they are truck and need truck tires. You would figure spending 30-35K on a mid-size truck they would at least put something decent on the wheels.

Everything is ok with me even if you dont use it.

I preferred the steering wheel in my '05 Sport over the new one in my 2012 Baja. The 2012 is identical to the one in my 2010 4Runner TE, so you know they decided to save costs by sharing parts. It has some tight spaces that my fingers get stuck in during a quick, full rotation.

    - I got the Baja, so I like my stock tires and factory lift. That'll likely be all the lift it ever sees. I like the TRD cat-back too. I know some don't.

    - I ordered the OEM skidplate from dealer. I just like the way it looks. It would collapse under any strain. The mounts are flimsy.

    - I ordered Tacoma all-weather mats from the dealer. I know I could get weather-techs (had them in 4Runner), but these say "Tacoma" and look more authentic.

    - Baja stickers are worthless to me.

    - I have used the bed outlet on more than one occasion. Even powered an electric chainsaw with it once. I was surprised it handled that.

    - I took all three rear headrests (its a DC) out while still in the dealer parking lot. They will collect dust in my closet now.

    - The plastic mudflaps WILL crack off after a winter or two of ice build up. Happened on my '05. I may leave them on the Baja until it happens. Dunno yet.

    - My Baja came with Tacoma door still protectors. They look like tape. Too soon to tell if they actually protect anything.

    - I LOVE the JBL system. Turn the bass down one or two clicks, leave the mids at dead center, plus one click for the highs and crank it up! Default settings are too boomy for my taste.

The first thing I did was rip out the centre console in between the rear seats and put in a sheet of plywood to make a level area for my labrador. My 07 didn't have it but the 09 does. I also could have done without that monsterous sub-woofer also. When I want my wheels to bounce I'll go for a "drive".

^^^^^What they should have done is made the whole thing a power vertical sliding window! That, I would pay for.

People complain about the JBL system but I think it sounds fine. the EQ controls could offer better sound shaping and the subwoofer needs it's own volume control, filter and EQ of it's own but all in all, I think it's a great sounding system. Yeah sure, I'd rather have a couple McIntosh amps and some Martin Logan electro-statics in there, but that's never going to happen.

and also, people complain about the strength of the tailgate...I weigh close to 300lbs and I've stood on the very very edge of my tailgate while it was down holding very heavy objects and never felt anything but a solid tailgate under my feet...what on earth are you people doing to your tailgates? It's possible that I just don't do things other people do with their trucks (i.e. haul atv in the bed, etc).

That would be sick.. doesn't seem like it'd take much either.

I prefer the clean look of a solid rear window.. and I know it's easier for the tint guys to work with

I like the sliding rear window...I've used it several times for long pieces of moulding.

and I don't recall seeing a Tacoma that the rear glass wasn't tinted. :notsure:

Oh yeah, I didn't mean they don't come tinted. But for aftermarket tinting it makes it a bear vs just a flat window.

Privacy Glass on the rear and side rear window has no heat reflection.. if you live in a hot area tint over those windows and you will notice a nice reduction in heat. I hate how manufactures put Privacy glass stock...
