Bought my 2016 Tacoma and was startled at how bad the radio is. In the 6 months I've had it, the radio has gotten worse. It won't even get stations in the same town they're broadcast from. This week I had an issue of the truck coming to a dead halt, they told me it was the fuel sensor, but turns out it's another sensor. So while it's in the shop for 4 days, they loaned me a 2017 Tacoma. The radio is worse in this one than my 2016. What gives?

It seems that if you buy a new truck with technology, the technology should actually work! Anyone have suggestions? The dealer has had it in the shop 3 times, one for a reset, then a hard reset, then replaced the radio, and it still doesn't work.

My 16 OR and my 17 PRO has perfect radios for a truck. Not a single issue so far.

I had some issue pairing the phone on the 16 at times but the 17 has had no problems.

Good luck, sorry to hear of your issues

Oh yay...another n00b that created a new thread to complain about an issue with the 3rd gen and didn't even bother to provide more details as to what issue he is having with the radio.

To answer your complaint, I have a MY16 and have not had any issues with the JBL system in my truck.

I think we should consider any newbies to have a minimum amount of posts before they can create their own new threads. Seems like there is a lot of trash being polluted on here as of late.

Sounds like you had the dreaded CPS Failure that left you dead on the road. And yes Radio Reception is not the greatest but its not that bad.

Try the little round nob in the top left of the radio. Twisting it to the right may solve your problem.

I think the OP was talking about the Reception not the Volume but who knows.

    Radio reception......another problem I don't have. Check.

With all the problems I read about on here, I'm starting to think Toyota is playing some sick fucking joke on me by selling me a properly functioning truck.

I probably shouldn't have said that. Tune in (pun intended) next week for my "I just had a catastrophic failure" thread.

    Welcome to TW OP!

My radio seems to work ok. Maybe its the antenna if the reception is so aweful. Do CDs or bluetooth work better?

Mine has been good. I fucking hate Entune but the basic radio functions seem to be good

Sounds like they've tried all of the electronic shit. What about checking the actual cable, it's connections, and the antenna itself.

    No. Just....no
