Currently interest in upgrading from my 2007 TRD Sport for a newer truck. For the price and options you get, is it worth it? Starting to get tired of not having 4WD on my current Taco. Unsure if i want to go full size or not though. Any thoughts?

When this question pops up, It seems to be the consensus to go and test drive it a bunch if you can.. Its the only way to know.

From my experience, I did just that and a 2nd Gen. And went with a 15 with low miles

I love my 3rd gen. I was originally looking for a 2nd gen test drove both but ended up with my 3rd and like it better. But thats my opinion and my preference. Like everyone else said test drive.

If you like the truck and it’s what you ultimately want, then go for it if you can afford it. Just don’t skip out on what you want in it (i.e. leather, sunroof, crawl control, long bed, manual, scoop, whatever) because there’s no going back once you make your purchase. I mean, you can always trade but you know what I mean.

Make sure you get exactly what you want the first time. Even if you have to wait.

Overall I would say it is worth it. You’ll get tons of safety tools, and OR ability in the new rigs. But unfortunately there’s no free lunch, and it comes at a higher cost.

Ultimately, only you can really decide if it’s worth it.

But eventually, sooner or later, you’ll have to fork over for all the new mandated and non mandated tech that is put on these new vehicles if you want to drive. Hopefully, in the not too distant future, Uber will still around as an option lol!

    Cheers!

Find the cheapest new 4 cyl and build it the way you want it. I’d give a new one a go with the least amount of options. I want crank windows

12-15 didn't have any frame issues, not sure about the flintstone looks but it looks better than the ugly catfish looking 3rd gen with the cheesegrater grill. how's that tranny shifting going for you?
