Hey everyone, new member here. I drive a 2018 TRD Sport 4x4. Currently finishing up some light modifications, and truly wonder if it’s worth switching headlights.. the stock DRL on the off road- n sport are pretty cool.. but does the bigger DRL really matter ? Maybe

What's your goal? Better performance, better aesthetics? What's your budget?

The only three worth considering is a high performance H11 or H9 conversion to stay halogen (you could always paint your headlight assemblies to change up the look), the OEM LED setup, or the Morimoto XB Rev 2. Your goals and wallet will select what works best for you. I'm partial to the OEM LED for output and OEM quality, but YMMV.

Thanks for input Mikey good points yeah I like OEM as well kinda a waste imo so many brands. Who to trust?? Lol Spending so much extra just for a bigger DRL isn’t worth it.(IMO) I do like the aesthetics of it though, I was just wondering if anyone noticed really did a lot of that, and I don’t see to Much of a benefit.

I’ve been super happy with my diy bhlm. Total cost $160 which included buying this second set of headlights just in case I messed up. Luckily everything went perfectly

You get what you pay for. Get a set of Alpharex or Morimoto headlights. Do not get a set of spyderauto headlights... literally worse than the stock halogen headlights (they look decent though but the quality sucks)

    SpyderAuto headlights (avoid these)

To be honest no one notices headlights except for the tiny amount of people that are into upgrading headlights.

For me that's not a big enough bang for my buck.

But if it makes you smile, sure, go for it.

Worth it to just get bigger DRL's? NO lol.

Worth it to get better visibility, yes.

I went from the halogens, to Morimoto's, to finally OEM LED's. I'm very pleased.

Definitely worth it to go oem led headlights or retrofit over stock. I was going to go with oem led headlights for my 2017 but ended up deciding to go with a led retrofit. Just deciding on all the options now.

That is going to lighten his wallet close to $1500 though.

Its not just the bigger DRL, the OEM halogens are pitiful in stock form. I found a used set of OEM LED headlights after my insurance was paying to replace the PS headlight. I have no experience wih the retrofitted stock halogen setups but the OEM LEDs are the tits. ( the sequential full DRLs are cool too without the gimicky lightshow of the TB Chinesium lights)

I had upgraded to the 2017 pro headlights. But now I have the 2020 trd led fitted with clear side markers and blacked out chrome strip. The side markers light up amber when turned on.
    They headlights are so bright.

OEM LEDs really change look of the front. Paired with Meso's headlight color matched filler plates seals the entire package.20210501_100658-02.jpg Monochrome (1).jpg

If you are going aftermarket full headlight assembly, go for Morimoto. Alpharex resells cheap Chinese assemblies for a premium.
