There’s a Tacoma TRD OR I’m considering from a certain dealer (out of state) and as the title says would that size tire have any rubbing issues on stock suspension? The guy at the dealer says he’s tried driving it around the dealership and found no problem.

That will rub. Driving it around the dealership with no rub doesn't mean anything really.

That tire is basically the same diameter as a 285/70/17 but is almost 1" wider

And my 285 70 17 rubbed like a mother fucker even with lift, CMC and lots of plastic trimming because of the width.

Ok that sucks then. Tires have less than 200 miles on them when the owner traded it in for a Jeep. Love what the guy did to the truck and the price is right but i got no intention of buying new tires

If the price of the truck is right, Maybe you can sell them to cover the cost of new ones.. shouldn’t be too much of a price gap?

My guess is it has a 3/1 inch spacer lift in it, and the sales guy doesn’t realize it... or he’s confused and doesn’t know a thing about tire sizes and how to read them. Lol

Link to the dealership please. I’m sure by looking at photos the internet can get to the bottom of this.
