It’s economics 101. Limited supply in the ground, limited refining capacity, and limited willingness to drill for new oil. On the other side; increasing demand here in the US and the emergence of China and India, with their massive populations, as global consumers of energy. All it takes is the most basic understanding of economics to figure out where gas prices are headed and where they are going to stay.

I considered the regular cab 5.7 when I bought my taco. Can you say drag truck? Then I decided I get too many speeding tickets as it is.
If I NEEDED it, then I would go get a heavy duty diesel no question about it. I would LOVE to have a diesel four door f250 king ranch loaded with every option. Sometime in the future when i'm not 20 perhaps

I had a 1st Gen Tundra DC (2004) & it was too big for my needs. I went in that direction because Toyota was, at the time, introducing the newly designed tacoma & dealers were not budging on MSRP. Our trucks were flying off the lots in my region so there was no haggling.

Hindsight is 20/20, so I ditched the Tundra & came back to what fits me & my lifestyle, a Tacoma DC. I think the newly designed Tundra is a very nice truck, but not needed in my situation as others have said.

New Tundra: Unless I had a need for the power, I wouldnt do it.

Older Tundras: Wouldnt mind buying one and Long Traveling it. I saw some of the trucks for SoCalTundras and they look nice and perform well.

I already think TACOMA is too big for me, i should switch to car. TUNDRA is huge and Drinks lots of gas. But I love the way TUNDRA Looks.

No, because my 2coma is good enough. The Tundra can't out 65 mph it ( I'm not talking about acceleration), mpg would drop, payment would go up and be longer too. It can occupy more parking area when I am hiking. Why fuel OPEC and big business more than needed?

What will you want after the Tundra? a crew cab with an extra cab behind it? 10 ft bed? triple exhaust? more more more

On the other hand if I had no truck and was to buy one I would consider it, just not worth trading in imo.

At first I didn't like the look of these new Tundra's, but they are starting to grow on me. They are incredibly expensive and bulky. Maybe when I become independently wealthy I'll get one. I would like to have more bed space thoughl.

I like both the double cabs and regular cab tundy's. If I could afford one I might consider it. But I hate the way the acess cabs look and would never get one. My next truck is probably going to be a 2012 Tacoma reg cab 4x4.

I tried to "build" a regular cab 4wd Turdna, they dont make em that way. Nice thought though.

I probably wouldn't. Too big and I'm already done paying off my Tacoma. Don't want another payment for a while. Next purchase will probably be a Sequoia; gotta keep my wife away from my truck.

I would upgrade.... the tacoma with the tundra's iforce. :D

Otherwise, the Tundra is just to big and ugly for me. I've seen a few nice looking tundras tricked out/lifted properly but.... still too big for me.

Hmm... might, under the right conditions...

I like the truck, it's unlikely to happen, though.
