I'm going to buy it and figure out a way to mount a 12" light bar in there. There is always a way.
If it breaks, at least it's not a $400 pro grill

@Zombiii I took large drill bit and cleared out as much of the center section then used a pair of needle nose pliers/wire cutters for the outline pretty barbaric and kind of sketchy but a Dremel or a small file to smooth out the edges would be your best bet.

I would not trust anything mounted to the grille itself. You would have to build some brackets

Anyone have any recommendations for how to get the TOYOTA to be more gray/silver like the real Pro grill? Spray paint? Plastidip?

Right, I'm thinking some aluminum angle, drill bits, grinder,..and beer.

Any chance of hollowing out the "O" when they do?

I'm pulling the trigger as soon as TACOMA is an option, so let's do this.

Ordered the faux pro grille on Wednesday afternoon, it arrived yesterday. Picked it up from FedEx this morning.

For the $$$, very pleased. Packaged well. No flaws I can find. I was concerned that someone said it fit loose (clips didn't fully engage against the stock bezel) but the grille popped in, clips "snicked" in just right, snugly engaged, and the fit is perfectly snug and tight.

Drilled and used a dremmel to open up the O's, and painted the letters to match my quicksand paint. Will throw it on the truck tomorrow after paint fully cures so I don't screw up the letter paint trying to put the clips on the back of the letters before then.

Removal of old grille was stupid easy. Out in about 5 minutes. Will go back in just as quick. Biggest pain in the ass in the whole process was masking off the letters before I painted.

Unfortunately I could not find the almost "perfect match" Rustoleum "gloss khaki" and had to settle for Rustoleum "sand". Close enough it shouldn't bother me too much.

Lightly sanded the letters, primer, 3 coats paint, 3 coats of clear. I expect it should hold up just fine.

Would not hesitate to recommend the faux pro grille at this point. The quality is good.

It may not be a "legit Pro", but who cares. I was drawn to this grille for the price, and with the thought I could paint the letters to match the truck color.

Anxious to throw it on the truck in the morning. So glad to be rid of the chrome cheese grater.

Anyone know where you could get some 3d plastic letters that aren't just 3d printed, where you could customize what letters you want?

I'm also not spending 3-5k on a sususpension just so I can say I have K_ _g or I_ _n . When I don't need that for what I do:). Life is fun when you mod what you need , not what you want people to see !

Got it on the truck. Really pleased. Was thinking my color match was pretty far off in the lighting of the indoors last night and this morning, but out in the daylight, it's pretty damn close. Very happy with the results of the letter painting, and the grille. Really changes the appearance of the front end for the better.
