That's because they are TRD O/R's. lol

Who cares right? but It's like going out and buying "limited" badges.. I look at the limited and go, "oh that'd be nice.. I could probably mod or add those aftermarket.."

But the effort of going out and getting something I don't have is just to make others think I paid more than I did. Custom logos are totally different.

Sleeper mod: debadge, install superior components, wreck people off the line or in the woods, leave the numb-nuts scratching their heads.

Uhm, as a custom badge, I'll FUCKING TAKE IT! I don't mind rocking some conservative bling in occupied Cali. :D:D:D:D:D:D

Maybe I'll finish taking off my TRD sport badges, I'll be proud to put the word Texas on my truck.

Another option if you think the TRD badge is too mainstream:

One can never have too many light bars.
I wouldn't but hey this is America you're free to to whatever you want. I would measure up trd tacomas to make sure its in the exact right place and I would also get the real trd sticker form toyota, not some knock off from ebay that will peel off.

If you just want it for the aesthetics, get something else. If you're wanting it for the "tough image", just get some o' them truck nuts instead. Then people will know you're bad ass.

I've been thinking I might like some bed side decals of some sort, but wouldn't do TRD on my non-TRD, even after I install an aftermarket locker and better than TRD suspension... Just like I wouldn't put SR5 badges on a non-SR5 - the TRD sport / off road are specific option packages that I don't have.

Although I can see that leading to the argument that the TRD folks don't have those options anymore either once they start upgrading the bits that made the truck a TRD in the first place. Maybe they should be expected to take their stickers off? :notsure:

Don't want decals with "SR5" in the TRD font either. Seems like most Tacos you see have the SR5 package... The badge on the back is adequate, until I get tired of that and take it off.

I'll either come up with something eventually or get bored with the idea entirely and move on.

I ripped off my TRD sport decal and put on a nice green on black TRD expedition sticker and I love it.

Once I have the money I can make it my own build. Until then I tell people that model comes with on board air comp, on board fresh water, and extra fuel capacity. If they asked questions beyond that, they would learn there is a jerry can, a water can, and a 12 v plug in air compressor in the back. They never ask though.

If you plan to keep the truck forever than who cares, but if you plan on selling it anytime in the near future I wouldn't.

    +1

Every couple of months someone posts a link to a truck for sale... or posts a picture of their "new" (used) truck, and asks about things that don't seem to add up.

Something obvious... like a 5-lug with "TRD Stormtrooper Edition"? Maybe.. I've actually considered that... and "Cajun Edition" is a maybe, but with the goofy packages that Gulf States puts together, I'd be inclined to make it a bit more personal....

...Or just peel the things before you sell it or trade it in.

But if you do it, do it carefully. We've got a couple of trucks rolling around Los Angeles that look terrible. There's a 5-lug with a TRD Offroad sticker (and still the black bumpers and grille), and there's a red Prerunner with "TRD Offroad Sport" stickers that are on crooked.
