So I'm just looking for some opinions on my Tacoma purchase. I bought a 04 double cab, sr5, TRD 4x4 with 143,XXX mi. Truck was listed at 12,990. I'm just wondering if the original asking price was a fair one I suppose....

Yeah, seems like a good deal, honestly.

    You already bought it?

You should've asked us that question before you bought it.

I would assume you're happy with the truck since you already bought it. So - just drive away with a smile on your face regardless of what everyone else says about the price.

If you get a hundred thousand miles out of it without any major repair, it was worth it. Being that first gens are as tough as they come, we all would expect that to be very possible. Have fun with it.

I really do enjoy the truck. I suppose I was just looking for some positive feedback. I'm surprised I never owned one prior to now. Thanks for the feedback.

No rust and good maintenance records? If so I think you got a very decent deal considering those miles. Here in Cali the 4WD DC's go for mucho dinero. Congrats on your purchase and let's see some pics already! :D

Miles are a little high, but it is an 04' 4x4. Balances out imo.

You are in the right camp with the price. my 03 dc 4x4 with a little lower mileage was 13,888. The guy didn't know it was supercharged is why I bought it.

Agree with the above post. The mileage is a little high, but because its a double cab 4x4 which are getting really hard to find nowadays, I'd say the price is was ok. Not great, but fair.

If body & interior are in decent shape the price is fair..2001-2004s are going for premium prices! Really taken aback when i began my search.. Could not believe that they were getting those prices for a 10 yr old, high mileage truck..
But it did not take long to see it everywhere... I searched CL in many states.
Feel good about your purchase... There are many out there that are less truck, more miles, not 4x4 going for much higher .. Salvaged ones going for $9,000+!!!!!

It took me 4 months to find one i could afford that was in decent condition.. I looked at many that looked great in pics but were Rough! (thats being kind)
I was deceived about title & condition.. I put lots of miles and time searching..
    I found this two weeks ago local... 03 w/ 162.000 miles..Got her for 10G
Orignal owner, nice guy.. I put a lot of elbow grease into her to make her shine up, did level lift and new wheels & tires, timing belt, tune up, rad flush. Will do brakes soon and belts. interior is decent, just cleaning spots, stains, etc. The seats are in Good condition and the engine looked very good.. no leaks, no blow by on inside on hood..

You did good. I got my '01 DC TRD last fall for 11,950.00 It was really clean with 123K on it. They are really hard to find around here, so I jumped at it. Totally satisfied.

I think you got a very good price, especially considering it's a Double Cab TRD... if you tell me it's a V6, that's even better
It's not an absolute steal, but very good; I would have bought it in a heartbeat if I was in the market and had that kind of money available

I see you live in Montana:
I live in Idaho, and folks not in this area may not realize it, but these trucks go for an absolute premium out here
Usually quite a bit better than KBB from private owners
My buddy just sold his 99 for 8k

So, I say you did good

It has the V6 and the body and interior are in great shape. I have to get the timing belt and water pump done but I'm still real happy with it. Everything in it works great. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1370562822.568791.jpg
