Yessir that's how I've gotten most of my information by back tracking in this here forum searching and seen quite a few of threads and the comments of ppl that have made engine repairs because of this here weak point. I call this cause and effect. No where in them threads did I see anyone suggesting to report to the NHTSA. I am a noob and have little to non knowledge on how to share this thread to other one but depending on what I gather on Monday that I call and report this to the NHTSA I will be manually searching and entering other threads that pertain to flapper, acis, etc

There won’t be a recall. What IS possible is that the aftermarket will develop an alternative.

Toyota is not allowing any aftermarket so this has to be taken up with toyota directly.

What do you mean? Toyota can’t disallow what the aftermarket develops. If this is some warranty thing, then just let a dealer relative it with a new part.

What i mean is that toyota doesn't release parts to be aftermarketed. Example: you can't go to autozone and get a certain part because it's only available at the dealership only.

Toyota contracts out parts for factory built vehicles from aftermarket companies. Bearings, brakes components, electronic modules etc. Then these manufacturers make the same parts with a different stamping to supply the aftermarket. This is standard operation in automotive manufacturing.

Seems like you can spot where the prong on each end came out of.
Next determine why. With a little detective work you shud be able to figure out why it fell out and replace whatever you fine that may have been the cause for it to fall out. You need to get a diagram of it that shows all the parts involved. Hopefully all the parts are there and none missing! Just throwing that out there.

and generally, it's like any other non-name-brand alternative. alternatives generally use slightly looser specifications. in many cases, the alternatives will even be made with official branded moulds that were purchased from the oem, but have fallen out of oem spec from use.

but it all comes down to money. for the aftermarket to come up with a replacement part solution, there needs to be enough part usage to justify building up the product from a source outside of the oem.
