Has anybody paint it there interior trim? I was thinking of doing a vinyl wrap but when I contacted the vinyl shop place they told me due to the extent he inside of the vehicle during the summer time the vinyl wrap melt off. I decided to go with the painting some of the trim. I just wanted to know if anybody has ran into the paint wearing off over time?
I find this video on YouTube

I'm trying to get my interior to look like the attached photo to this thread but in Blazing Blue Pearl. Any information or feedback would be most greatly appreciated.downloadfile.jpg

If a reputable shop does it like the gentleman whos picture you have. There should be no issues, layers and polishing of clearcoat and warranty. Take the pieces to a shop. I wouldnt screw with mine which i also intend to get colormatched.

I used Krylon Maxx to paint mine. No issues with fading or wear at this point.

Man that's a nice interior! I wonder who that is lol? I haven't had any problems with my paint wearing off but I also had it professionally sprayed with several coats of base and several coats of clear and then polished and waxed.

Yes that is a good-looking picture of your interior I must say. I am trying to get mines to look just like that except with the Blazing blue pearl. I called a sign shop they told me they could not wrap my trim due to the extents heat in the summer time it could melt the wrap right off. So I was going to follow the steps in the youtube video which I posted here along with Automotive paint that is colored match by the code by from Factory.

Go for it! You may want to do the door control bezels last though after you have some experience. Those pieces have to be taped off since the gunmetal trim doesn't seperately from the assembly

Oh no I was actually hoping that that piece would actually would seperate from gunmetaltrim. I might want to think this through and maybe just do the trim on both sides of the steering wheel. How much did it cost you more or less to have yours done?

It's all in the prep. The better you prep the parts for paint the better it'll turn out. I spray painted my integras fender cutouts and they came out nicer than the factory paint that I've polished and waxed the shit out of.

I spent about $220 to have all the pieces painted. I just had to take them off the truck and give the pieces to him

I don't if I should do it myself or have my little brother do it he has his own garage. I just never seen his work so I'm a little bit worried.

Could someone link a video of how to remove all the pieces that this tacoma has white on his interior. I would love to do this to mine but I have almost no clue on how to remove the pieces from the steering wheel, and the doors.

A back step for when I get older, Carhartt seatcovers, 4Runner wheels, Topper, and "tats all folks"! --for now!!
On The Center dash part/assy The trim DOES separate from the Black part on mine --there is 9 small screws and 3 snap/latch connectors that hold those two parts together -- problem is that the whole thing comes as an assy, and those screws are tight as hell. REason I know this , is that is about 3 ft from me -out of my truck awaiting a new back part -- or maybe the whole thing. my new one should be here tomorrow, and I probably will have whole assy for sale -- It is # 5 on this parts diagram: notice there is 8 different versions of #5 depending on what radio and what interior color: The other side parts -- I am not sure

All the gunmetal trim pieces seperate from the Black part with the exception of the door control modules

Problem with that video is its only the center console trim piece and the bumper caps. Doesn't show how to remove any of the other trim pieces.

I c what u mean. I would imagine the steering wheel portions just pull out as well. Remove the steering wheel and c what’s up. Also, the remaining trim pieces r easy to figure out. The door panels may have to b removed to get at the surround for window controls etc. u can figure it out. Just take your time and don’t rush. Just pop the main portions out or remove any attachments and separate the portions that u wish to paint. Good luck and post some sweet pics.
