    Hello all,
I was wondering if this Dakine Pickup Pad would fit the tailgate dimensions of the 1st gen. I mountain bike frequently and am looking for a solution to transporting my bike instead of taking up the entire bed with the bike. I want a secure fit on the tailgate, that will not jostle my bike around on rough roads, and would be secure enough for long trips.
Here is the link to the pad.

Any input would be appreciated. Thanks!

Another thing to be worried about here is how low the front tire will hang down behind the truck. The 1st gen tacomas have a very thin tailgate so the bike sits pretty low and depending on your fork, the lowers may sit on/against the bumper.

    The small is perfect fit.

This is a good aspect to consider. Thank you for suggesting.

This bike is long gone, so is the 1st gen.

The thin tailgate is an advantage as it allows the bike to lock in place. I never used the down tube straps.
