It’s a diamond back hard cover for a 05/15 tacoma shortbed... but could it be easily modified to fit my 17 model?

Spiker struts, tailgate step, MESO...$$

I have a Diamondback for the 05-15 long bed. I thought the same thing except I was thinking about cutting mine down to fit. Either way, it looked like my clamps would hold the cover. The only issue you may have, as I discovered is the way the newer trucks bed is curved narrower than the previous. The cover might fit but it would not completely fit the tailgate portion. here is my example
