That doesn't have anything to do with his comment. He's comparing Ford and Chevy trucks to the Tacoma and I (we) know full well he isn't talking about Rangers or Colorado's since they would never come close to that price. Hence, he must be talking about F150's and Silverado's which are a much larger class of trucks.

Besides roll down rear window and powered seats, I would want cylinder shut off when using cruise control. Imagine how much the mpg would go up if cruising at 65 mph with 4 cylinders?

The rest of the luxury comforts people mentioned would make the top-of-the-line Tacoma reach $40k easily.

Good point, assuming toyota can do it better than chevy. My dads silverado never does it on the highway. It's not set up to work at actual speeds that people drive, just 50mph.

Don't care about leather seats, I don't want them. Heated mirrors are a safety issue and should be standard, No excuse there except toyota wanted to cut corners.

    - All interior controls on the dash and doors can be clearly seen in the dark!
    - Heated side view mirrors.
    - Sound deadening material in the roof, floor, all doors and panels.
    - 6 way power seats.
    - A digital display that provides basic performance metrics like engine/trans temps, miles to empty, average MPG, instant MPG, etc.
    - Power tailgate lock integrated into the power door locks.

I took the last three off your list. I don't like advanced stereo/nav systems stock because they usually are sub par, over priced and a pain to replace. I don't like the hassel of leather either and seat heaters seem to be something to go wrong fast.

All I would want is vinyl flooring, and a manual transfer case, locking hubs, and a bench seat available for the TRDs.

Haha... If we lived close enough I would be all about it!.... We would most likely have to trade consoles to. The only thing that concerns me is the wires that connect to the seats. If I knew I could swap them out I would in a heartbeat!

I would like Toyota to improve Quality of body (gets dents easily), Exterior Paint, Improve their Stereo and give me full time 4x4 instead of part time :) and I will be one happy man.

Better fuel economy. As for luxury (someone said this earlier), it's a truck. Not meant to be luxurious. If anything, I wouldn't mind it being a little more rugged :)

Not to mention the many disadvantages of full-time 4x4...
