I think the vehicles with the Entune app suite have the camera display in the radio, and those without have it in the mirror.

I think all 2014s have the backup display in the radio, if they have the flat touch screen radio. I have the touch screen radio with the backup display in the radio and I do not have the Entune App Suite...rather, I have Entune Plus with No apps.

I would go with a 13 if you can find a new one in stock.

Same here, except replace "stolen" with "totaled."

I'm very happy with my '13, although I might have waited had I known the 14s were coming out 2 months after I bought mine. But maybe not, since i'm sure the 14s are more expensive, being one year 'newer' and all.

Note that the LIMITED version of the 2013 is the only version to my knowledge that has built in SATALLITE radio (NAV also) and of course the beefed up JBL sound system. I took it for granted that the 2013 TRD Sport would have had SAT ability. You apparently cant get the LIMITED Tacoma with TRD options i.e. the suspension upgrades.

Upgrading the suspension would be easy enough. There are so many people on here lifting their trucks they are practically giving away their stock parts.

Your right! Then you would also have to get rid of all the other fluffy stuff lot of extra time and money when all I would have expected was a fully functional radio in my TRD Sport.

I got a used 2013 Limited 4x4 when the 2014's first started to roll out as it had 11k miles on it so it was significantly cheaper. The camera moving to the navigation screen wasn't a huge issue for me.

I traveled about 50 miles to avoid our two local Toyota dealerships that don't deal. It sounds like whether a '13 or a '14, they are very nice trucks with just a few differences by model year.
I've always figured that what you may save by getting a one model year older vehicle will even out in depreciation later on since it is a year older. I think if you get the truck equipped like you want then that's the most important factor.
I purposely did not want the TRD option due to the significantly tighter ride. My '03 had little or no give at all. Since I'm not rock hopping I like the smoother ride.
After owning both my '03 TRD Double Cab and a '05 F-150 Screw, this '14 so far seems to be the perfect truck for me.
Looking at 4 wheel campers now in the Silver Edition to match my silver truck. They are 2/3 the cost of the truck if fully equipped... around 18-20K for a new one.
Good to hear that everyone so far that's responded to the thread are satisfied with both their truck and the deal.
I like the backup view on the nav screen. You know exactly where your bumper is when you back up. 1.5' buffer on the red line and 3' on the white makes it fairly precise. Have to laugh at all the disclaimers in the owner's manual regarding the camera...
The E tune with Nav offers XM satellite radio free for a trial period. Nice feature and it might be handy in remote locations but that monthly fee will probably preclude my purchasing.
Reminds me of parking Army turbo props and helicopters between other aircraft at small airfields. Could have used similar cameras on the wing and rotor blade tips!
