My wife bought a Tesla a couple years ago from tesla.com. it was magical!

Buying a car at a traditional dealership is like using the bathroom at a fancy strip club. There's always this guy in a suit, acting like he's doing you a favor by handing you paper towels. Dude, I just want to pick a car (or pee) in peace, not get a lecture on the 'premium experience'. Meanwhile, buying a Tesla online is like having your own clean, high-tech bathroom at home. You get what you need, no unnecessary small talk, and definitely no one watching over your shoulder!

The only reason I keep my Prime membership is for Prime Video and Music. If those weren't attached to it I'd have killed it a long time ago.

I actually just quit prime precisely because of the video. The UI isn't the most pleasant and the "watch with commercials" and "available to rent" stuff are purposely difficult to avoid.

And that's really too bad, I liked the prime originals better than any other. But man, they make it a maze to find a good show, and I'm just not that interested in TV.

Agreed. Since they removed the "Free to Me" button they have made it harder to find stuff that's actually free with Prime. That said I still like the UI much better the Netflix. There's 2 things that I think are awesome that Prime has. IMDB ratings and the ability to watch a trailer. Why NFLX hasn't adopted that to it's platform yet is beyond me.

I think we all would, but the current format makes more money for companies, therefore we probably won't see it happen.

The government is giving us standard issue vehicles as part of being a citizen? I think you stated the literal opposite of what's actually happening.

By all means, yes. After the tires are worn down to the belts from 4-wheel burnouts in your IONIQ 5 N, just crash it through the front window of the local Whole Foods, and flash your QR return code at the customer service counter.

    Yep.

Already knew what I wanted, be awful nice to order it online and not have to do the salesman dance, can’t stand them.

Only thing the sales guy did was try and talk me into something in didn’t want. They don’t even do the final paperwork either. Not even sure why salespeople exist, get a commission for doing nothing. Much like realtors, just need them to unlock the door. I did all the legwork finding the houses we have bought.

About an hour ago, i found out I need a pair of 1 inch mount rings for my new deer rifle scope. Amazon will have them here by 10 pm tonight and I won't miss a moment of NFL football.

    Thanks Mr. Bezos!

If you mean car dealerships as companies your statement is correct. Ford, GM, Toyota and all the rest would love to ditch their dealers and go direct to consumer. When the stealership tacks on a some big "market adjustment" not one penny of that goes to the car maker. When normal people see that BS they say "I'll just milk another year or two out of my current truck", and automaker is screwed again. My state is one where the legislature is for sale to the highest bidder and locally the stealerships are willing to pay top dollar to keep their consumer unfriendly business model going. Here Tesla can't sell direct to the consumer, but in practice the process was so easy I don't understand what the stealers are getting for their money.

(actually I do know what they're getting. If the dealership laws allowed direct to consumer sales the legacy automakers could undercut them and they'd go out of business. good riddance is all I can say.)

I got suckered about 15 minutes ago. I need a 50 foot drain snake because my 20 footer isn't stopping the flood.

Maybe tonight I'll be able to wash every towel in the house. They need washing, because reasons.

I just went to a Toyota Dealership in San Diego (Mission Bay Area-I'll let you figure it out so you don't think I am a shill) to look at a new 4Runner. I was actually very impressed with the "ambiance". Very nice experience, online price was good. They just texted me this fine Sunday morning offering to sweeten the deal! Heading out with the "Boss" to walk out in Pt. Loma, grab some lunch at my favorite Greek Restaurant off Rosecrans. Who knows, we might stop by for another look. (Barcelona Red 2023 SR5)

I actually was lucky enough to skip a real estate agent, drew a simple sales contract up with the seller and the credit union accepted that for my mortgage.

    Downloaded it. :D

If you are in a mood to 3d print something, I think I have the link to the file I used. There are several variations of that bus floating around online.

    Dealer model is so dead.

I don’t need a middleman to add 5-20k over MRSP.
