It seems like the diesels from GM, Ford, and Dodge cost about $10,000 more than non-diesel models. Assuming Toyota only offered the diesel on the pre-runner model, the base price would be about $29,900. I'm guessing the upper end would be close to $40,000 for a 4x4 Double Cab, Long Bed, etc.

Would you buy a $30,000-$40,000 Tacoma Diesel?

If it was a diesel anywhere remotely the size of the ones in the domestic trucks that would have a very interesting stance. Lol just a tad nose heavy. I'd definitely buy a tundra diesel, I just can't imagine a tacoma with one though Lol

It would be a Four Banger, not a V8 diesel!! It would be the one that toyota uses in there landcruisers and there hiluxes.

Mostly stock for now, I have added a cb radio, various cheap mods and I plan on adding aftermarket wheels and other items in the future.
I would buy a V8 Tacoma, diesel I would not. I think it would be really cool, but it would be a tight fit. Now I think they need to put one in the Tundra, that's for sure! :D

There is no reason for a diesel engine option to cost that much over a gas engine.

The truck would have a lot of parts not found on its gas counterpart. I think the price, particularly with all the new emission equipment, is justified.
