    Definitely wouldn't hesitate buying another.

Only other vehicle I'd prefer over it is a 4Runner because I absolutely loved my two previous 4Runners but didn't like towing our travel trailer with them. They're more spacious on the inside and mildly better build quality (in my opinion). Only issues I have with the Tacoma is it has some interior rattles that kind of annoy me, knowing the 4Runners never had any, and the backseat is totally useless for other human beings. Not a big deal for me since the only creature riding back there is our pupper. Having a truck bed is glorious compared to the 4Runner trunk as well since I can just throw my dirty/hard/sharp shit back there without worrying about ruining the interior.

I'd also be lying if I said I didn't have Tundra envy. Some more interior space, cushy ride, and additional towing/payload capacity (oh yeah, and the only other Toyota with my favorite 4Runner feature: full rear window roll down) would be awesome, but then I look at the prices and that desire gets erased pretty quick as well as having to drive and park it in the city.

I bought my 2020 Pro sight unseen from out of state. 25k miles, nearly 2 years later and it's the best vehicle I have ever owned.

I'm the original owner of a 15 built 16 OR/AT. Jt needed a body mount (squeaking), headliner (cut too short) and I think that was it. I nearly sold it many times because of the absolutely terrible, borderline undriveable tune. Now with kdmaxx it is great. I would not hesitate to buy another, knowing it will need a tune. However, if I could go back in time I'd get a Tundra for the space and capability. That is only because my life changed since getting the Taco. Single/apartment life then, married/property owner now.

I've had a Toyota in the driveway since 1978 including Celicas, Camrys, 4Runners, and my current 2010 Tacoma. I still keep coming back to them because I hate things breaking. I also look at how easy something is to maintain or repair when it does break and Toyota seems to be easier to work on. Its funny to read some trade journals about Tacoma problems. Everyone points to a bad transmission on the 3rd generation. These transmission don't break down. With the 2016 model they messed up on the shift points but with a software flash that was solved. That isn't a breaking down issue in my book. The 3.5L on the 3rd gen meets better fuel and pollution standards at the expense of being less "truck like" than the 4.0L with more low end torque. On the 2nd gen Tacoma which I have (165,000 miles) it was reported in reviews to have a terrible HVAC system. I agree that it was a weak spot but it was also so easy and cheap to fix. I could change out a squeaky blower in 10 minutes. The resistor has been a pain but it's easily accessible and easily changed out in maybe 1/2 hour (I just did my 3rd swap out). Are Toyota's perfect? Not at all. Are they getting less reliable? I would say they are but at a much less rate than any other manufactures. Part of the reason for the problems are the added complexity of the engines, accessories, electronic controls, and all the "green" crap it has to have on it. It is very possible to get a lemon once in a while but for an average the Toyota will be more reliable if you want to keep it for a long time. If you're rich care about your image then go buy a Range Rover which will lose it's value and be in the shop a ton. If you must have a newer vehicle then buy a Chrysler product on a 3 year lease. Cheap to buy but will fall apart after 3 years. All of these opinions are based on average. I'm sure there's a Chrysler PT Cruiser with 200,000 miles somewhere but not many.

Having toyota pickups since the 70's, never having a bad one...i'd buy another. I've seen how other manufactures trucks can be a worse.

I had a 2015 built 2016 Tacoma for four years. If you like the way it drives, chances are it will be a good, dependable truck.

If I was buying a used vehicle I wouldn't hesitate to consider the 3rd genTacoma.

Edit: I have a 2019 Tundra that had more issues than my 2016 Tacoma did. My 2004 Tacoma beat them both by a mile tho, lol.

    Short answer: Yup
Longer answer: Toyota makes thousands of Tacoma’s every year and being a machine designed by man and built by dozens of suppliers and containing thousands of parts you should reasonably expect from time to time there will be an issue. That’s what the warranty, service and parts department are for. If they were perfect and lasted forever then Toyota would eventually be out of business, and then you would have to buy a Chevy or Ford.

I’d buy 2nd Gens all day every day.

1st Gen Tundras are getting older and harder to find so we may end up back in another 2nd Gen Tacoma eventually. 2015 is still pretty new compared to our 15-30 year old Toyotas.

I have bought new in the past (young and dumb), would never buy new again.

Test drove several 3rd Gens extensively, both at various dealerships and family/friend’s personal vehicles with Tune. Never. Under any circumstance ever. Not for me, man. Drive a lot before buying, might be just fine for you. Might not.

Search for used 2nd Gens. ✌

Yes, I've had an 04, 16, 19 and now my 21. Of the 3rd gens the 21 is by far the best, most of the transmission issues are gone mostly because this one was full of fluid not a qt down, it is by far the most quit one I've owned. The other 2 were a little quirky. This is going to be my keeper.

A forum is a great way to get convinced you purchased a POS. I love my 3rd gen and would purchase another.

Another thing to consider is how many people complain about their trucks after modding them. Any manufacturer will have outliers, but the Tacoma is still named one of the most reliable trucks for mid-size.

Negative. I havent found a vehicle that meets my standards of quality at a price that I want to pay.

So I decided to walk everywhere instead.

Anyone know what lift kit will work with a pair of size 12 Reeboks?
