The scary part of that is I believe the majority of Tacoma Buyers are repeat Customers, if Toyota loses them they probably wont come back again.

    Toyota is not losing them

Do you know what gen 1 and gen 2 owners who have frame rot what they replace with?

That's right a third gen tacoma

Like Camry and accord owners , tacoma owners are loyal and not going anywhere

Resale value is amazing and most owners buy for that reason

I understand, that is what I said in that the Majority of Tacoma buyers are previous Tacoma Owners, this issue was the guys having bad experiences in the current Gen and saying they would not buy again, I don't think those guys will return.

It's odd that my 2014 Scion tC monogram series had the sensors on both sides and that was a car under $20k.
It didn't matter to me though since I only open my door on the drivers side.

I only had my TRD off road since November and it only has a little over 6k miles and no issues and I only regret not getting it in a manual though.

The 6 speed transmission was annoying at first but my truck stop hunting for gears after 2k miles. My tC was a manual it had more off the line power than this truck but that was expected because it's a lighter car.

The interior in this truck is like night and day compared to my last vehicle. I love the interior, the infrotainment radio system is light years better than the one in the tC, the seats are more comfortable, loving the utility of the bed, and I have a dog and he has plenty of room in the back.

If I have any of the issues people have been plagued with the truck I am just going to take it to the dealership and have it fixed. I am not taking a loss on this truck as I already wasted 3 years leasing a car with no equity and don't want to lose any more money.

If nothing happens to the truck with in the next 2 years or 30k miles that must mean I have the "unicorn" 3rd gen.

Wow at how many people wouldn't buy again, though looks most of the MT owners would and I'm one of them! Only real problem I had was getting stuck in gear which was fixed in 30minutes once the part came in.

Agreed! Also I'm a first time Tacoma owner. Last two vehicles were 04 WRX and 13 Focus ST. Bit of a change but I'm happy!

I've own the 2 gen. Just bought the 3 gen and probably will buy the 4 gen. Why? Because it has and will have the highest residual value for years to come. For example I spent $24550 for my 2006 Trd sport 2wd access cab. Totaled it last month with 135000 miles on it and got a check for $20991. It's simple math. YES, I will buy again. Best investment period!

Couldn't stomach the 3rd gen. Bailed on Toyota after like 20 straight years of ownership. 5 or 6 trucks from taco to Tundra.

Ya have to be careful with interpreting results of informal surveys where the participants are self-selected (they choose to make an effort to answer) and the sample population is also a self-selected group of enthusiasts and/or people seeking help with problems.

We don't typically marvel at the number of socially awkward people at ComicCon or the number of sick people in a hospital.

I'm not saying there aren't folks with definite problems with their trucks. Just cautioning on assuming any "results" found here do or do not apply to the general population of owners out in the real world.

When you read this statement it makes you think you got rid of a problematic 3rd gen for your Chibby.

In reality you went from a 2nd gen. In your postings history it looks like you would have bought a 3rd gen except for having issues with your credit and the need for a full size truck to haul 1000lbs of tools and passengers.

I felt a little dirty stalking his posts but I was curious what problems he had with his turdgen. It looks like he loved his 2nd gen and was gearing up to buy a 3rd gen. *shrug*

Well, unfortunately you are going to hear it. I'm sorry you feel that way and I can understand the frustration and lack of concern for your health that the State/County housing authority has put you in, but at some point the responsibility must be addressed in ways outside of my control. I did the best I could do with the sample you sent as it was mainly cross contaminated because of the inferior sample kit....not your fault or mine.

Get your housing authority or landlord to step up to the plate for your living condition's along with Health concerns. If these issues are not being addressed through the proper channels they can and will have their State/County/Federal subsidies pulled "certificate" of compliance.....You have other avenues of remedy under County/State and Federal laws for resolution.

I would definitely buy again, I would make one change however. I would have ordered a 4x2 and saved the cash...
