I think if Toyota would fix the Trucks most of us longtime supporters and owners would not be so pissed about Toyota's lackadaisical approach....

I personally love the Truck just would not buy again for the simple reason that Toyota is treating people the way they are after dumping this kind of dough.

im a first time taco owner 3rd gen. have owned it about a month and love it...

disclaimer: first time truck owner also... so nothing to compare. For my purposes its more than what I need. Tundra and others that size are too big.

I would buy mine again, but I do agree that I don't necessarily feel that it'll be as bulletproof as the old ones. Well, i think at least the engine and tranny will be.

Sort of off topic, but I have seen a handful of the new Ford Rangers in my area. Not the best looking truck, but they have some ground clearance! I have seen two and four door variations of it. They all have Mexico plates (Chihuaha, Durango, etc...), so I am wondering if the US variant will be the same when they release it here. I can't wait to test drive one just to see how it compares.

Figures are near the end. OR is a little better due to the lack of chin.

When Toyota finally puts rear discs on the Taco fanboys like you will be the first to claim how great they are.

So it's the rear drums that are stopping you from a new one?

US version will be different, I imagine a miniaturized F150 or closer to the GMC canyon look with more of the square front end. Personally I hope they keep it a miniaturized F150 with more of the boxy, crisper lines. But it has been said it is just a face lifted version of the current model.

Rumor has it they are looking at possibly offering a manual transmission but the prospects aren't likely and if so it would only be 2wd, not in a 4wd configuration. That would put me out of the market. Other rumors included 3.5 V6 eco and diesel option. 10 speed transmission available on higher trims as well.

It will blow the competition out of the water on HP/torque if you are willing to go ecoboost.

I know right. Not having Rear discs is the dumbest shit I've heard as a reason for not buying the truck

I'm not sure if that's why he will never own one, just taking guesses as he seemed to not want to answer my question. Maybe he is busy typing a long post to describe every issue he has had with the 3rd gen, oh wait he has never owned one.
