I have to pick it up of course. Looking at trading in on a non damaged brand new one but honestly would rather just get out of it. For the kind of money these cost in Canada, they are not worth it.

Is the dealer working with you to help you get rid of the third Gen?

    Feel your pain man :(

To pay all that money for a Toyota and for it to be this way :(

I've seen that. Growing up in the 70's meant we had a lot of cheap, used big block 4 speed vehicles to tear the shit out of, back before a bunch of yuppie dickwads made 396 Chevelles, 390 Fairlanes and 440 Mopars into "collectibles"

Grab second gear and hook good...the rearend can blow easily. Get some axle walk in there to help make it more violent and BANG!! If just the right (wrong?) traction/RPM/load exists...yeah open your wallet. If my memory is correct it happened more often to leaf spring cars than coil spring cars, because of how the axle can dance around on a leaf spring car.

Happened to me once, because I was showing-off for a girl, like a typical 17 year old dumbass. 1966 Olds 442, 425 C.I. 4 speed had to walk and ride a bicycle for 2-3 months before I could scrape up enough to pay to have a ring and pinion installed.

I knew what I was buying but honestly felt different after I bought it. Almost $50 grand and the interior is pretty ghetto, tranny and engine suck, and overall it's not that comfortable. Some love the truck but I have a feeling they are coming from previous toyotas which are so dated now. Go sit in other vehicles for less money and what you get is far superior. Can't say your buying the drivetrain when it's not that great.

Dealer just called... another 2 weeks for parts. F sakes.

Nice car... be worth some coin today.... With that much power you can tear up a rear end pretty easily. Everyone complaining about lack of grunt (not me) in the Tacoma seems to counter that.

Lemon... how long in the shop for same problem.. over 30 days in first year you get your money back or a new truck. By in shop.. means waiting for parts as well.. why would it take 2 weeks to get parts... I could drive to Texas and back with parts a lot faster than 2 weeks...something ain't right there.

Just FYI, lemon law specifics can vary by state, so @silvio should be sure to check his local laws. Here in Georgia it's 30 days in the first two years / 24,000 miles.

My trucks been towed 3 times and has spent 11 weeks total in a shop, and I've never been offered a loaner for majority of that time. Annnnd I still can't lemon law it because Toyota won't warranty it.

I do not believe most of Gen 3 Buyers have Unrealistic expectations as they are most likely previous Tacoma owners. Each buyer is simply expecting the new one to be as reliable as their previous truck but perform better and provide better MPGs. You can easily understand the frustration of some that barely get any better MPGs than a Full Size Truck.

I don't have unrealistic expectations. I just expected that a 2016 Tacoma TRD would outperform a 2006 Ford ranger sport with plastic floors...

    Unfortunately, it doesn't.

It doesn't tow much more than my ranger did, and the QC/reliability is a damn joke. Even the paint on these trucks is a cheap POS.

I hope Toyota is reading any of this...

    they aren't
with issues on gen 1 and gen 2, gen 3 wasn't effected at all. Best sales. Can't keep them on lots. Sweer running extra shifts at plants.

Resale value is great. People love tacomas (even WITH all the issues in the past and current)

Chevy and Ford aren't taking conquest sales from Tacoma
