Would you buy it?

would you buy new or used? would you buy ARE or LEER and why?

If you can find a used one meeting your needs you would save some serious money. I looked for several months before ordering a new ARE. I looked at Snug, Leer, Century, Ranch, ARE and a few other smaller manufacturers. I don't think that the quality is much different maker to maker, all have great quality and shitty quality caps that make it out of the shop based on my research. I did not want to get a cap without vented windoors and a few other must haves. Having a longbed my selection for used was greatly reduced from shortbed….YMMV.

 

I have the opportunity to buy a used ARE CX classic for about 1200 its red and i would need to paint. plus it doesnt have the roof rails which i would need to install. I think i could have it all done for around 2000 when its all said and done.

1200 camper
100 paint
150 rack rails
600 prinsu rack

2050.00 total

would you buy it?

My whole family does body work that why the price is so cheap on paint.

 

I understand that i would void warranty if i install the rack rails/tracks. I am also under the impression that the warranty is only for the original purchaser. Is that correct?

 

The manufacturer is probably the best source of information for questions like this.

 

I've seen used go for less with more options. Might want to keep looking or try to get a lower price. It will be a big advantage having the means to repaint one. Paint cost would be $600 for most. I passed on a silver LEER for $600 which was in great shape, but didn't have windoors or a rack.
