I would buy a new SR before paying that much for a truck with those miles , dirty interior , nicks , scratches and out of warranty .

I wouldn't buy a used taco or a house in this market. Just because your buying at the top of the market. I don't care how you shake it! Unless you have to that is!

Too much money for me, I was looking at a new 2020 SR5 4x4 V6 DCSB before I bought my new 2020 TRD OR in April, they were asking 28k before tax and docs. Ended up going with the TRD OR for $32.5K. I know this is a different time, but $29k for a four year old access cab truck with 30k miles, and a very limited warranty, is way out of line.

Too much $$ considering dirty interior, nicks, scratches you mention. And their reason for not certifying it sounds like BS, and can't imagine why it would need a brake job at just 30,000 miles.
I'd advise you to keep looking.

For perspective, i just purchased a 2017 SR5 4x4 with 42k on it for 27k. One owner Texas truck. I dont know the market where you are but seems like you could find a better truck for that price.

I don't trust CPO's. Three of the last four used CPO Tacoma's I looked at before buying new, had dirty oil on the dip stick.... I've also seen it on CPO'd Lexus, and a Land Rover.

Doesn't sound like a fair deal at all...

Also any new car dealer can do a CPO to any of there used inventory for a fee....assuming it's there product line

Just ask the salesman if it's possible if they say no I think there full of shit and I wouldn't give them any business.

Nope - too much money and the lack of CPO is suspect. I also think the city driving IS hard miles, especially a driver in the city driving a 'company vehicle'. Tough market/time to find a deal - if you are not desperate it is probably best to wait. Making a rushed decision financially has never worked out well for me.

Thanks for all of the replies and opinions - I finally just decided to buy a new Access cab. All of the used ones around here were just too close to new prices. SR5 V6 4x4.

    Here is my new Taco:

I wonder if they simply can't certify a vehicle if it was a commercial vehicle? I woulnd't be surprised if that was a legal thing. Buy anyway, no, I wouldn't have bought it either considering how many young guys might have beaten on that thing, and had so many meals in it, in its first three years.

Congrats on the new truck. I was in a similar situation to you. I was looking at a used SR5 2wd access cab originally, They were asking $29k for a 2019 with 27k miles on it. Just made more sense to pay the extra money for a new one with warranty and better finance rates.

I am in a similar situation but in the reverse. My 2016 Sport access cab, bought new 5.25 years ago, in new condition now, only has 25k miles. I barely drive it and put it up for sale. I just figured I could get by with an older Tacoma or Tundra for my minimal truck needs. Had 2 cash offers of $28k. Before going through with the sale I looked hard for a decent used truck. What a joke that was. I decided it would be dumb to sell mine at $28k only to pay $20k or more for something with around 100k miles on it. You were smart to buy new. I paid mine off in 2 years so it is not a financial thing. I am retired and this truck will last me as long as I am driving. If, by some lucky chance, I do find that sweet used truck I may reconsider selling. I don't see that happening now.
