This was a few years ago um I know they were duratracs maybe 245 or 265 75 16. And I know some ppl say that the factory fuel thing is off. But mine does usually say between 9 and 10L per 100 I have even seen it in the 8's. We usually get 18L in the 4runner but got 12.5 on a long trip that was the best it said..

    No & Yes

No I most likely won't be buying a 3rd gen now or anytime in the future.

Yes if I bought a 3rd gen it would most likely be a 4cyl automatic.

Now if somone wanted to sell me a 4cyl manual 3rd gen AC 4x4 for way below it's value. I'd take it.

    Edit

If Toyota still built and sold Regular Cab Tacomas, even the 4cyl auto. I would have bought one last weekend, and might have considered buying another one tomorrow, but regulation killed the regular cab.

Depends on your needs, it would be a fine handy truck for commuting to work, going to Lowe's, the land fill, hauling the occasional washing machine, dresser or deer.

If you have your eye on a camper, boat or big tires probably not.

I get consistently 27 mpg from my 2.7, so yeah, they do get better mileage.

My son’s 22 2.7L has 265/65/17 Nitto Terra Grippers and stills get great highway fuel economy (22 mpg strong head wind - 26 mpg good tail wind)

    Get the V6 and 4WD.
Resell will be much better plus it will last a long time to boot.
Sure the I4 is bulletproof but the V6 is good too.

If they offered it with a manual transmission I would have been very tempted this past summer when I took delivery of a V6 OR MT.

I think your truck is broken. C, km, L. All improper ways to make measurements.

I went to buy the 4-cylinder access cab. The test drive convinced me to get the 6. I'd recommend a hilly test drive. I also have a 2006 4-cylinder, but the 3rd gen. just seemed too sluggish for me.

I thought the same thing about my 3rd gen after buying my tundra but I still have a lot of love for it. It’s become the date night truck
