    Lol.

I like the point that someone made about them not being the correct oem headlights.
Well I guess my truck is in that category as well. I have headlights that did not come with the trd off road. My rear bumper isn’t the original bumper.

so many people off road their truck here and crack their radiator support. So they get a new one like this truck.

In all seriousness. What will go wrong with this truck? What is stopping people from buying it?

$33k is a great price for it. Much better then paying $40k for a clean title. Save $7k

If one wants to be financially wise, don’t try to save $10k on a busted truck. If $10k is a significant amount, then one probably shouldn’t be buying a truck at all.

I’m firmly in the camp of risking $23-33k for a max return of $10k is pretty stupid.

That just means your experience doesn't support the outcome. In other words, you aren't very good at assessing risk versus reward and that's how you base your opinion.

How is it busted? It was in an accident, but since been repaired.

it’s no different then a trd off road guy putting a trd sport hood and trd pro grill on.

Clean title, but what about the carfax? Assume it wasn't totaled. If you are serious, the first thing you should do is put it up on an alignment rack. If the numbers are off, run.

I think "repaired" needs to be accompanied by an asterisk here. Repaired by whom? I'll take the safe route and work off the assumption that the dealership made the repairs and, again, spent as little money as possible doing so. Since it's been mentioned a few times already, I'll point to the headlights. The fact that whoever "repaired" this truck didn't use OEM parts in such a readily apparent area says a lot to me about the quality of the repair work. What about the areas that aren't so readily apparent? Did they replace those parts at all or just bend it back or patch it up or straighten it out to save a few bucks there too. It's one thing for me to skimp and put aftermarket headlights on my own truck to save a few bucks or maybe I just think they look better. It's another thing entirely for a dealership/repair shop to "repair" a truck with cheap parts and then ask $33K for it. It's a risk I would not take. I can almost guarantee you can find a better buy somewhere else.

I'd tread carefully, but being that it doesnt have a branded title, that speaks volumes to the extent of the damage. Anything with frame damage will automatically be a total loss, and gain a salvage title. Washing titles is pretty hard to do - not impossible but it would still leave breadcrumbs. I'd ask for more photos. Photos of the cross member in the front, photos under the engine in front. If you have a trusted friend, I think that would be good too. I wouldnt write it off just yet. I hit a deer at 50mph when I had a 4runner in 2019. I did 18k worth of damage, and it looked pretty similar to that. Not enough to total it, but enough that the insurance company offered a pay out on it. I ended up opting to get it fixed, and drove it for another 20k miles before I sold it. The repairs were done properly, and you honestly wouldn't have been able to tell it was in an accident prior.

This *could* be a great deal. Dont write it off so quick. Most of the people on this forum will tell you to run even if it had minor damage. Heck, some of them trade their trucks if they get body damage (after they're fixed) because "it'll never be the same". Rebuilt vehicles can be amazing deals and I've driven rebuilt vehicles for MANY years without issues. You *can* get burned, but if you do your due diligence, you'll probably be fine.

    Good luck!

$12,500 and that's my final offer.
Then I'd sell it with full disclosures for $25,000 not a penny less.
Then I'd take that profit and buy a new one with it.

For the price, with low miles I dont think $33k is crazy. I'd bet that they have some wiggle room on price too being that its been repaired. $33k is what they want, but maybe you offer them $30k and they're alright with it. One more thing to check is the reviews on their dealer. There are quite a few dealers around the front range (where I am) that do this repair/resell work. Some have great google reviews, some have awful. If they dont have a ton of complaints, I'd say they probably properly repair their cars. This could be a huge cost savings for you, if its right. Maybe a forum member who lives close by could go take a look - but be sure that member has an open mind.

that's no deal, I'd rather have a slightly more years and miles, than that rebuild.

I'd bet this truck went for more like $20-25k at auction. You have no idea what you're talking about - lol.

Grille looks very slightly cocked (just a hair clockwise) and of course, every painter's bane: the plastic panels aren't matched. And that's just what I could see from the photos. I would forgive that, but at 33k, I wouldn't even want to try to negotiate it. Jaysus, the world has up and decided that pickup trucks are made of gold or something.

Basically it’s a crap shoot, if the repairs were done properly and you can get the price down to a reasonable level for a wrecked vehicle then it could be alright. I personally have never bought one like that myself but I have some friends who bought a wrecked/repaired Subaru and after a few months they dumped it because of electrical issues. Also, wrecked vehicles will be worth less when you sell it no matter how wonderful the repairs were. And check with your insurance company before you buy to see what their policy is on wrecked vehicles.
Edit: They probably put the Sport air dam on to hide all the damage!

Yep. That's the one! I saw that comment regarding frame damage but could find any other details on that. Based on a VIN search, it sold at auction for somewhere around $18-20k.

glad they disclosed the wreck. i do agree with the person that suggested to offer a lot less if you are genuinely interested and could accept the risk.

for me, i could not accept the risk even at $25K and would pass.

Someone else may have mentioned this, but if the dealer is claiming the Title for that truck is "clean" (meaning not a Salvage title), I would suspect some illegal activity somewhere. That should have been a total write off by the insurance company, hence a Salvage Title. So that fact makes me rather nervous about dealing with that dealership.

If the Title was correct, and the price was say in the neighborhood of $18 - $20K total for the truck in the rebuilt condition, I would give it very serious consideration.
