whoa, you could charge for that psychology lesson and its spot on. I love my truck, just think I'd love the MT SB more and if I have to wait, I will and if it doesn't happen, so be it I guess.

Drive your truck for a couple years, get some mileage and equity into it. Then trade up for a 2019 or 2020. Maybe by then they'll have added some new gadgets/tech and fixed some of the more common issues plaguing the 3rd gen. Want it bad, get it bad.

Not to get political (as that's forbidden) maybe with the new administration they'll loosen some of these stupid CAFE /EPA requirements back and we'll get some better diesel options on the menu. Imagine that!!!

dang, a diesel would be amazing! I'm guessing the Taco crowd feels about the Gen 3 auto like the Jeep crowd did when they went from straight 6 to that pig V6 they have been using. Diesel would make it all right!

I would take some time and see if you cant get some things back to stock like removing your lift on your current ride, that way when you are ready for a trade you can just add that stuff back on.

    Just traded my 16 dclb sport for a 17 dcsb or. Worked out to be about even, but I was getting a car for my daughter at the same time. I really like the shorter wheel base. Take some test drives and see if you really like it. Would love to have MT but wife can't drive stick.{insert joke here}

Nothing could beat that 4.0L straight six, then they went to the the 3.8L mini van motor.... sad face, but my wife has a 2014 jeep wrangler with the 3.6L pentastar V6... it's a strong solid motor, it's a blast to drive and very easy to maintain. 60,000 miles and no problems!

Yeah that ^^^. The car dealers know it too and they use that as a tactic when selling cars.

Impulse buying I think its called.... gotta have it and gotta have it now...NOT.

Thats how I got into my Taco.... was at the Nissan dealer (was going down the list in alphabetic order of trucks with MT trannys) and after test drive in a nice fullly loaded 2015 Pathfinder (was Sept. 2015) we were going over the numbers sticker was around $30K then the assistant sales mgr gets involved... lemme show the kid how to sell a truck... price went up to like $42K... I'm like WTF is the extra money for?
Then the BS started and I'm like woah dude $10k over sticker, I think I'm going to do some more "research", I'm outta here, later!

Went the the Toyota dealer the next day and problem solved.

The Nissan dealer sales guy called me like 10 times... finally I said dude.. I'm already in a 2016 Tacoma TRD Sport AND ITS KICK ASS!

Wife not driving mine cause truck too big! Darn...... She's got her own..... wait for it..... Honda! tadaaa boom.

OP wait till the end of this month coming up if they still have that truck they may wanna wiggle down some with ya on the trade.... I'd keep in touch with the sales guy tell him you're still interested but perfectly happy with your current ride, when you wanna get serious give me a ring... I bet they call you within 24 hrs.

The only difference between Oh and Ah is a couple inches. I would give that dealer a week or so to stew on your offer and go in there and give them the numbers on the lift , backflip etc. and tell him that you're going to still make money on the deal, let's make this happen . Tell him you're ready to sign the papers right there

From what I have read, they are keeping the current power train and then they will have a turbo 4 banger and also a diesel option. We will see if just hope they don't make the wrangler ugly. They were kinda pushing it when the JK 07 - current model, came out. Not a fan of the dumbo ear fenders and slanted front grill.

It will likely get the newly redesigned Pentastar V6. Right now it's only in the Grand Cherokee.

Other options are supposedly the "Hurricane" 300HP turbo 4 and eventually the ecoDiesel.

Yes, though primarily due to the 4 door version.

The 3rd gen short beds look ridiculously disproportionate with the longer hoods.

I may actually change things up a touch and consider a Gen2 2015. Gasp!
