I am always hoping that Toyota will come out with a smaller and more efficient version of the Tacoma. Maybe a 2.2L DI turbo gas or turbo diesel engine and 5+ speed auto? Then again, I'm not the tiniest person to put in a compact truck... At least change the engine up.

Things that make me wish I had a car:
    1. handling (can be fixed a little and I plan to someday)
    2. mileage (not too bad)
    3. grocery shopping sucks with the regular cab unless you're only getting a few things or they can go in the bed

Lol, the Tacoma was my "better gas milage" vehicle :). I had a 2000 V8 Chevy 1500 4x4 and a 2006 F150 Double Cab 4x4 5.4, I remember when it was like 100 bucks every four days back in 08'...

Gas is like milk, the price really doesn't matter, I might bitch and moan while I am filling up, but ultimately you need it..

I bought this truck in part to have a truck that did get better mileage. The truck that sparked the insanity of no less than six truck purchases was a Ford F150 that I was averaging 16 mpg in. As I'm solidly in the mid 20's, I am quite happy with the result.

Only for a diesel. That's the only thing I'd trade it for.

    Or an STi.

Ehhh, not anytime soon. It would take gas prices getting back into the 4.00 a gallon mark for me to start considering trading it in.

If I did it would be for one of the new challengers... or maybe even a mustang.

I would probably start thinking of getting something with better gas mileage if gas hit $5.00 a gallon and stayed there.

Nah, because the company pays me a monthly allotment for a vehicle, as well as pays for the gas; that's regardless of the type of vehicle I choose.

Pretty good as long as I work for the company, otherwise it's my on nickle.:D

gas prices were high here in canada, i ended up selling my 3.4L $runner and almost pulled the trigger on a ser spec v, but i went across the street and bought my 4banger and love it :) no complaints on gas either, much better than the 4runner and once i get my rims back from powdercoat friday it will be sexier than the runner was :)

I traded my Tahoe in for a '08 Accord I4. As soon as I drove it to work the next day and crammed my air compressor in the trunk I knew I made a mistake.

I started looking at trucks after about a year. Once I settled on the Tacoma I never looked back. In fact the gas mileage on the Tacoma is only marginally worse than my Accord.

Nope. I have a 07 Corolla and it only gets driven when my wife drives it. 3 years and it only has 25k on it. One month and my Taco already has 2.5k. My 05 Sprt Trac I traded in on my Taco had 60k on it. I hate getting in and out of a car...
